1986 Limited

I am looking at a 1986 31' Limited this weekend. Anyone know of common issues this year/model has? I have a 77 now and may consider changing to this one. Any comments would be appreciated Phil

Hi, good neighbor! You are busy, rallying and now shopping for a new Airstream. You saw our '95 limited, so you know something of the fit and finish of the limited line--especially the wood interiors. One word of caution, and I don't know if it applies to an '86, but somewhere in the later '80's and into the mid '90's, Airstream used headliners of a cushioned vinyl that releases from the interior aluminum ceiling and droops. It doesn't seem to happen in all, but in many. If this one shows signs of "pillowing" then you may need to anticipate a correction. You'll find threads here about the condition and fixes that people have successfully used for this. We used screws with covers to create a quilted look on the ceiling, really kind of neat! Just a suggestion of something to look for. Please say hello to Laura and pat the dogs for us ~G

Believe MaxandGeorgia are being modest. I saw their "screws with covers" repair and it looked great. Had they told me it came from the factory that way, I would have believed them Everyone should use their method.
