Hi, good neighbor! You are busy, rallying and now shopping for a new Airstream. You saw our '95 limited, so you know something of the fit and finish of the limited line--especially the wood interiors. One word of caution, and I don't know if it applies to an '86, but somewhere in the later '80's and into the mid '90's, Airstream used headliners of a cushioned vinyl that releases from the interior aluminum ceiling and droops. It doesn't seem to happen in all, but in many. If this one shows signs of "pillowing" then you may need to anticipate a correction. You'll find threads here about the condition and fixes that people have successfully used for this. We used screws with covers to create a quilted look on the ceiling, really kind of neat!
