My new (to us) 1999 Excella needs paint touch up in the hitch area. Can the Airstream charcoal Grey paint be cross referenced to an automative paint color that the paint suppliers recognize?
Don, Duplicolor T183W from Wal-Mart etc works for me. A light spray over the whole area avoids exact match problems. This thread refers:- http://www.airforums.com/forum...plicolor+T183W
Good luck. Nick.

I got Rustoleum Midnight Grey Metallic...or something like that...and redid the entire lower section of the trailer and the A frame-hitch area. It might be a little darker that the official Airstream color.....but it was $3.86 a can and not $21.95 a can from the dealer.

I want to thank the responders to my question. My paint supplier (PPG outlet) was unable to cross reference the color provided and I was unable to find the Dupli-color at Wal-Mart or the Rustoleum color at Home Depot. I ended up going through color samples at my PPG outlet and selected a dark grey number 35581. It is slightly lighter than the Airstream dark grey but very pleasing. I purchased a quart in a Urethane Acrylic and sprayed the "A" frame area. It looks great and no one really notices the slight mismatch. If I have to touch up the trailer underbelly I will just do the whole thing in the 35581. Thanks again for the help.
