soda blasting

Hi. My 96 wb has bad clear coat peeling. Has anyone ever tried or thought of soda blasting the panels to remove all the clear coat. Anyone have any opinions on this procedure?.
Thanks

Don't !!!

Use a good paint remover, and nothing else.

I just did the interior. It will leave the panels mat finish...not a real nice mat either. It is best to strip them.

I have used a small soda blaster on small parts and find the process quite slow. Many use Aircraft Stripper or Marine Stripper to remove the clear coat. I had good luck with the former, but it is quite nasty.

You may also want to search the forum on Removall, noting that it has a new formula.

When we had our '89 domes and roof areas polished and re-coated they masked off all the areas they did not want to strip, sprayed it with paint stripper...smelled like methylene chloride to me, left it sit for 20 minutes and then they power washed it.

I agree on the NO for soda blast. Although it is effective at taking just about anything off any surface the final look is always 'mat'. We used Soda to clean equipment in our plant.
