'94 30' Front Kitchen?
I knew that airstream made a 30' Front Kitchen Excella in 1994, as it's in the 1994 Airstream brochure (but no pictures). But I have never seen one. I think I found one for sale here. It's too pricy for me, but if anyone is interested in a unique or at least very rare Airstream, go for it.
My scanner doesn't appear to be working at the moment, but if I can get it working I'll scan in the floor plan and post it.

I read once that there were towing issues with the front kitchen and this was why they are so rare...Airstream quit making them. Apparently they had poor weight distribution and too much tongue weight.

According to the spec's on the Airsteam Web site, the 34' front Kitchen models had tongue weights of:
1996 Excella: 900 lbs.
1996 Limited: 825 lbs.
1997-99 Excella: 710 lbs.
1997-99 Limted: 770 lbs.
These tongue weights are simlar to and sometimes lower than the standard (non-front kitchen) 34' Airstreams of the same years, but they are much lower than the tonque weights for the newer slide out models that have tongue weights of up to 1250 lbs.!
Other than the 1996-99 34' FK's, I have seen photo's of an '81 25' Excella with a front kitchen (don't know anything about it - was it a custom job?), and then there is the rare '94 30' front kitchen that I mentioned in this string.
It's spec's are not in the Airstream listing I provided the link to above, but they are in the 1994 Brochure I have:
Dry Weight: 6150 lbs.
Tongue Weight: 750 lbs.
Add'l Allowable: 2150 lbs.
All referenced to say "w/o Options".
I did get my scanner working, so here is the floor plan for the '94 30' FK (actually Model 30J, and note that twin beds were optional, but not shown in this illustration):

By the way, in case the link above ever goes down (like when the trailer sells), here is a photo showing the unusual window configuration forward of the door on the 30' FK:

Wish there were more photo's. I've seen a 34' front kitchen and I know that they are rare, but the 30' must be even rarer.

my 30' front kitchen is titled as a 93, but the paperwork i have shows it as a 94...it seems a little pricey, but if its as primo as they say, i think it could be fairly valued at 20k.

further clarifacation: fair..."offered" at 20k....19k would be "fairly valued"...IMHO...

Front kitchen is a sweet layout
That is a nice layout for a trailer I'd like our next trailer to have that setup.

Thanks very much for this. I've been in a 34 foot front-kitchen and always thought those floorplans were great. Too bad they're not making them as a nice alternative now. What great cooking (and living) space. Tom

CanAM has one for sale too
CanAM RV the Airstream dealer here in Ontario Canada has a 1993 30ft Front Kitchen for sale - I am sorely tempted to drive down there tomorrow to take a look at it. It has always been my "dream" trailer. Wonder what the wife would say about trading in a 2003 25ft Safari on a 1993 30ft Front Kitchen. hmmm?
The link is here:

(sorry don't know how to hyperlink)

This is a different layout than the only one that I have seen. It was a 34' if I remember correctly. That may be why the one that I have seen was more tongue heavy. I believe it was in the 900# tongue weight range.
The plan I saw had an "L+U" arrangement with the leg of the "L" separating the kitchen from the living area. The fridge was in that leg and the sink was in the area that is in the wrap-around window location labeled "credenza" in the plan above. For a travel trailer, it had a really huge kitchen!
Anyway, it may have been a more unique plan yet than the one in the ad.

The way to identify that model is it has a single safari like window in the front with a rock guard. The cabinets are too tall for the wrap windows to be used with the U shaped plan. Some owners would change out the rock guards to make them look like a standard trailer.

Recenty purchased a 95 Excella 34 feet with U shaped kitchen in the front. Does anyone have or know of a source for a floor plan for this model?

Charles, I have an original '94 34' brochure. If I can get the chance, I'll find it and scan the floorplan of the 34' FK for you.

I saw a front kitchen airstream (a little one like 16 or 19 feet) BRAND NEW in Albuequerque, NM at the dealership there.
