12V Actual Wiring Diagram

Streamers! I am a newbie to the Forum but a 10+ Owner of a 1999 Safari. My configuration (using towing vehicle references) is Living Room Front, Bedroom Rear, Kitchen Passenger Side and Bath on Drivers Side.

Recently, several 12 volt lights stopped working, no 12 available at sockets. Since AS in their wisdom have failed to offer a diagram showing wire routing throughout the trailer, it is very difficult to know where to start. There are no blown fuses in the DC fuse block.

Specific lights are out including the Living Room overhead, the exterior under door light as well as the bathroom. Additionally, the CO2 monitor didn't have power.

The living room wall switch, next to the door was the easiest to access and its proximity to the CO2 analyzer made it the choice for investigation, since I didn't want to start cutting into the interior "fuzzy" insulation.

I discovered there was a wire back into the insulation that looked as if it had melted open. There were burn marks on the insulation and the wire had separated. I am afraid to reconnect this cable for fear of causing more damage.

I need a diagram of the 12V system that shows wire routing so I don't have to start removing the interior of the trailer. I have search everywhere on the internet and cannot find such a diagram. HELP.

They don't have one for 1999, but I doubt there is much difference.

I really appreciated your manual link. However, it does not address my requirement. Please refer to Page G-5 in the manual and you will see the kind of diagram I am seeking. Note this shows only the Exterior Lighting wiring routing. I need a similar drawing showing the Internal Lighting wiring routes.

If anyone can assist I will be "internally" grateful. Safari

The drawing on page G-21 in the manual mentioned above should tell you everything you need regarding the 12v interior wiring. It does not show the physical location, but the color coding should tell you which wire is burned.

Could be a lot of things but a breaker could also be at fault; try replacing the breaker that the circuit runs those lights that are out;

If you disconnect the wire from the 'fused' side of the breaker, then check if that one is to 'ground' you will 'shortly find ground'.. couldn't resist.

Do a Google search for Airstream wiring diagram to get a hard copy if you have to have one. There are a ton of them.
