Pulled the trigger (follow up thread to 30' Classic)
Went to the AS dealer today and checked out the 2004 AS Classic and pulled the trigger.
This thing was immaculate.
As mentioned all new LED's, new 16" tires and wheels, $2500 ProLine hitch included, 2 40lbs tanks, 4 deep cell batteries (2 pocketed in the front).
Ive decided to leave the cabinets as is and only replace the flooring with bamboo and reupholster the window treatments, couch and dining benches.
I think new kitchen and bathroom sink faucet as well as the two bedroom sconces and the dining overhead lamp will be switched out.
Ill make sure I keep all the original bits.
Should be ready in 2-3 weeks.

I didn't know that dealers would do upholstery. Have you got the hitch, tow vehicle and a place to keep it? Bet it will be hard to wait for it to get done.

Oh wow! Yours looks just like our 2004 28' except you have dinette and queen. Are you going to do the beige ultraleather on the upholstery? I cant wait to see it finished. What product will you use on the floor? Is it actual bamboo? Or a bamboo look vinyl?

I now see your other thread on towing with a Yukon. We decided to replace our Yukon (the short wheel base version) with a truck when we acquired our 2004 28' classic. It is a heavy trailer, and when we ran the numbers, we decided that the SUV with the 4 bucket seats and AWD system (which added lots of weight to the car) didn't have enough load capacity left for the trailer, us, our big dog and my purse ( it isn't small)! I sure loved that car ...hated to make the switch. Nice to not worry about towing capacity though.

Well, i am originally from Oklahoma (we Okies are known for wanting to take along all of our stuff), and the men in my family were all boy scouts, so I tend to travel "prepared"! Seriously though, we found that the rating on our Yukon in terms of weight on the axles etc. left very little room for trailer tongue weight, people and a fairly basic load in the car. It was close enough that I honestly did try to think through how much weight my purse added. We were tired of running the numbers and worrying, We may have overdone it going to a 3/4 ton diesel Denali truck, but we wont worry when we go to Colorado either.
