Inheriting a 2005 31 Dinette Classic Limited.
Years ago I adopted a 64 Globetrotter and when she sold, we shifted to a vintage Bluebird motorhome. Now that rig is selling so we can take full advantage of shifting back to Airstream. I will soon fly cross-country for a weekend to look over the 31 and to engage local cleaning and hopefully carpet and upholstery professionals. Dad just replaced tires and AGM’s- He is still awesome even if the 31 is too much for him now. It has not moved except across town a couple times in about 10 years. I have a 2019 Expedition 4x4 with towing which, with the Hensley, will be near max in every way. Another option could be sell the 31 where it is and miss a trip next spring from sea to shining sea with my youngest, who doesn’t hate us yet. The notion would be to flip to a downsize and keep on camping. We like boondocking but not off-roading. More like no hookups and peace and quiet without tripping over neighbors. If the xcountry trip proves the rig is too big, it will get flipped for a downsize anyway. Long-distance renovation is a little nerve wracking, but two folks plus a dog left the 31 with a certain “personality.”
Regardless, I’m happy to be diving back in to the shiny side!
