2005 Classic Ltd 34’ S/O
With the new found love of dry camping I’m making some improvements on the 34’ S/O. Heavy brake maintenance recently brought me to realize that only 3 of the 6 brakes were working. While I was cleaning the brakes and repacking the bearings I found 2 brakes on the right side with broken wires going to the magnets and one bad magnet on the left side. I haven’t really used the trailer in about 5 years ( playing around with the 370 LE to much) I also bought 7 new tires…..the previous ones I bought were in 2011 and they were 09’s. I also had to replace the converter, the original one was shot. I went with a 75 amp unit, with 2 deep cycle Exide group 27 batteries. I installed 2 new 12 volt/110 volt TV’s with built in DVD Players. I’m also going to install an inverter under the couch and run a new 110 line underneath up the side wall above the kitchen counter for my coffee maker. We use a Honda 3000 but can’t usually use it until 9:00 AM (generator hours). Over the winter I’m going to install a washer/dryer in the rear half of the curbside closet. More to follow, Regards, Bob

Love the pictures. Your under couch looks very similar to ours (2012). I never liked the battery compartments so when I upgraded to AGM, I removed those. I put 4 AGM's under the couch and put diamond plate on the front of the trailer to help in covering the holes from the compartments.

Finally picked up the washer/dryer from Lowe’s last night. I have a 6 year warranty……hopefully I will not need it. It’s a 1.9 cubic foot unit where the splendid was a 1.5 cubic foot unit. I may have to take a running start to get it through the door, but I think I’ll have it installed this weekend. More to follow, plus a want to get back to working on the 370LE. Regards, Bob

Good thing there’s a slide in this 34’ trailer. The washer/dryer just fits through the hallway to the closet area. It’s about 140 lbs. and it will end up sitting over the 2nd and 3rd axle. Now I have to Jack it up and slide it in. More later

OK……so now for the good, bad and ugly. Total time for the washer/dryer install…….42 hours. Could I have been quicker ???……..most definitely but I would not have been happy. Installing a 1.5 cubic foot washer/dryer is a lot easier than a 1.9…….upon further review, removing the interior wall became necessary to get the unit in deep enough to close the closet sliding mirror doors. If you want to ace the hole for the vent be prepared to move the unit back and forth about 17 times until you’re ready to commit to cutting the 4” hole through the outside skin. I’m very happy with the install and will test the unit out on Sunday. Merry Christmas to all, Regards, Bob

That's the rats nest of no return. It can only be improved on.
Good luck

Saving my comments for what I have or have worked on. I have replaced the entire 7 way cable and installed a BMV-712 in that nest.
But many years ago I changed from a carb system to fuel inj on a 1985 2.2L Caravan. Yup all hardware, head, manifolds, fuel pump, primitive controller and more. Required lots of under hood rewiring to transform to something that actually ran. It worked.
