2005 30' Classic w slide out Bed Slides FWD

When braking such as bumper to bumper traffic, often after a pull, I find my double mattress has slid forward and messed up the bed,

It only happens in bumper to bumper where repeat braking and grabbing occurs, Most trips the mattress is fine.

Some discussion with other year models suggest there is a bracket at the end of the mattress, that prevents the mattress from sliding. However none of the postings had a part number and the details were elusive. Such as contact your Airstream dealer who will provide one. Sure with a newer unit, but unlikely for 2005.

I have downloaded a 2005 parts manual, which does not mention any such bracket. Any actual part numbers or aftermarket solutions?

My 2004 34’ Classic LTD w/slide out doesn’t have a bracket either. Not sure if they ever did.

Sliding Mattress

Hi SLIDERS - No brackets etc on our bed foundation either...sounds like you just need some traction between the mattress and it's foundation to keep it in place.

Maybe ripe for a couple of self solutions like some of that tacky shelf and drawer liner material available in the box stores, placed between the mattress and base. Or maybe some good old fashioned hook and loop velcro tabs. It's available in rolls that can be cut to size as needed. The rug section may also have a rubber underlayment used under throw rugs to keep them from sliding on hardwood floors.

In a quick look here's one used under couch cushions and pillows to keep them in place.

Yep, that’s looks to be a good solution.
