2004 Elk Mountain Decor

Has anyone seen Airstream's proposed new Elk Mountain decor for the Safari Line? You can see pictures at Airstream's Innovation page on their web site.

I like the colors and the new grommet window treatments, plus the vinyl floors (borrowed from the new CCD line, no doubt).

The Airstream Safari line is for adventure-seekers, people who visit beautiful outdoor places and want to camp in comfort. From the peak of Elk Mountain Montana, breathtaking views can be seen. The colors found in these views inspired the color choices of the Elk Mountain interior decor. These eco-tones of brown and green bring the outside in-- rendered in rugged, yet comfortable fabrics and finishes.

After a full day of outdoor activities, lay back and relax with the fleece blanket and feather pillows of the Elk Mountain interior decor.

  • 100% natural cotton curtains - easy removal for washing
  • Zinc plated, marine-grade grommets
  • Extruded aluminum edgebanding wraps and protects counters and table tops
  • Waterproof SunbrellaTM fabric guards furniture
  • Stain resistant CryptonTM Suede covers cushions
  • Vinyl floors are easy to sweep clean

2004 Interiors

I was looking at an option sheet for a 2004 Safari 25B and one of the color schemes offered is "Spice Trader". Listed with the options is something caled a "Spice Trader Upgrade Package".

My question is: Has anyone actually seen a trailer with the Spice Trader interior? What does it look like?

Thanks,

I went to the Search function and typed "spice trader". I came up with 3 threads (including this one).

Here is a link to a thread with photos of a Spice Trader interior.

I have called Airstream and they told me the Spice Trader upgrade also includes some sort of lights above the dinette on the SS model. I actually got a fabric sample of the Spice Trader and assocated Spice Trader materials besides the seat cushions. Spice trader goes beyond just the seat cushions. There are about 4 or 5 fabrics used in Spice Trader. If there is interest, I would be happy to take snapshots of each and post it to the photo site......

That Elk Mountain interior looks bad...but that is just me....

That would make it "spillt pea soup", wouldn't it?

WHOA.....................All those with early 70's avacado interiors can now save tons of money because its back in style. Just a little cleaning/ebow grease and your trailer is trend setting!

to each his (or her) own...

Okay, no elk. But no mountain? How about lichen growing on an old rock? Or young spruce against wet bark? The white curtains could be clouds passing by

I saw the Elk Mountain interior in a Safari SS at the International Rally in Burlington, and found myself liking it better than I like the CCD; it was contemporary and homey, too. (And just think of the stain hiding power of that pea green color.)

The designer of the new interior was hanging out in the trailer when I poked my head in. She said people's reaction to the new interior was mixed (just like this forum). I hope it's kept as an option at least, maybe with a choice of colors?.

My thoughts about "Spice Trader"? The designer of this interior needs to think seriously about finding an Airstream episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (he/she might pick up some decorating tips).

Alright, since I started this, I feel I need to add my $.02 I like some of the features, and although with the green my first reaction wasn't "WOW!" it is growing on me. I really like the curtains, although since I don't currently have a trailer, I'm not sure how much easier these new curtains would be over the older style ones.

I really like the new CCD models, but I'm actually not crazy about the color choices (Lemongrass, Hazard Orange and Blue Streak). I wouldn't mind if they offered the "Elk Mountain" green as a choice for the CCD.

Proxac,

I was also impressed with the curtains; seemed liked a simple, elegant solution. I was told that they're still refining the design because the grommets slide almost too easily, and the curtains don't always stay open/ shut. This can't be too hard to fix.
