Weed whacker vs Airstream Interstate vent window

Well, my lawn guy accidentally threw something from his weed whacker into one of my driver-side vent windows.

Has anyone had to replace one of these? If so, is this a DIY or an Airstream fixable item? Any ideas on cost?

Photo included. The guy on the left is my son, looking like he's not going to say a whole lot at the moment. I'm the guy in the middle trying not to lose it as I take the picture lol. The guy on the right, an excellent yard guy, looking like he's losing money on this job.

TIA,
Jerry

So, responding to my thread, I found that the whole window (top portion and two venting windows) comes as a single part. I'm hoping I can get just the broken vent window replaced, otherwise I'm looking at nearly $1K for the whole assembly. Here's what I've found:

https://highskyrvparts.com/road-side...0-04-372260-04

Does anyone know where I can find just the individual venting window?

TIA,
Jerry

Have you...

...checked with the company named on the above window tag?

Is the window one-way?
Would plexiglass work as a temporary fix? (easily cut to size)

I haven't called them yet, but yes, I looked on their website right after I got the window taped up. It's CR Laurence. They don't seem to have (on their website) the exact vent window for the whole assembly (which they do have), but looking at another vent window for a very similar assembly gives me hope.

Entire window:

Vent window (close match):

I believe I need VENT623LB, but I'll call to confirm. Just dropping links here in case anyone else needs them for future weed whacker incidents.

I can’t tell for sure, but it looks like you are dealing with a flat place of safety glass.

A few years ago I was the guy on the weed whacker and I threw a rock into my back window. It was actually a while later that I discovered the window was shattered. It had shattered into little chunks but hung together for quite a while.

I went to the local glass supply house and ordered a custom cut piece of safety glass. They asked for a template so I made one out of cardboard. The piece they provided was an exact match. I thought the rounded corners might be a challenge, but evidently not so. I paid less than $75 for a piece roughly 18x36.

I replaced that same window part about 8 years ago. Got the part number from the CR Lawrence web site.

https://www.crlaurence.com/products/...eSize=48&sort=

Then I ordered it from DK Hardware as CRL didn’t sell retail parts at the time.
https://www.dkhardware.com/cr-laurence-ZM1P1.html

It was a DIY fixable item. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. This looks a lot more promising.
