Volta Equipped New Interstate (aftermarket addition)
Thought you all might like to see this. It was done at Holland Motorhomes in Holland, MI in cooperation with Volta Power systems.

That's an interesting system. I've seen other threads related to similar upgrades. Looks very clean and neat. No mention of price. I guess if I have to ask how much it costs... I can't afford it!

Looks like a great alternative...
Noisy generator is gone. The four Lifeline AGM batteries are gone. You still have all that propane tank for the heater, furnace, and stove... and outside grill or fire pit...
All replaced by one 12kWh pack located where the generator was... I wonder if the total net weight is reduced between the generator and the 4 AGM batteries. Even if it is not, the weight is located all where the generator was and at least there is relocation of weight from where the AGM batteries are now... and no risk of the AGM falling off...
From the photos it looks like this was installed on a GT. That AI benefits from a bit more cabinet space to accommodate the installation of the big inverter. In a Lounge space is less because of the two additional chairs.
And in the 2018 the water heater occupies the space where they installed the power distribution. So it would have to be installed right next to the heater.
Sorry, just thinking out-loud on some of the challenges if I went this route...

I believe Volta systems start around $30,000.00 and go up rapidly from there.

From the linked article: "Vroon and his team spent nearly two weeks installing the system and then another week testing it out."
Three weeks of labor? Grab ankles.
I wish they'd provided more practical information on how long the coach functions can be run. "The goal is to allow the owner to travel, never having to idle the vehicle unless at a site for more than a day." Under what exact operating conditions?
And no solar component, by the sound of it? In a place like the owner's destination (Montana), it's not always necessary to run a/c. Therefore it's nice to have solar for noiseless charging. Not essential, but nice. If they are going to spend that kind of money, might as well round out the package.

Just for reference this couple spent nearly $38,000 for a Victron Energy 24V system in a Ram ProMaster van.

$124,222 for the grand total, but look at what they got for that. Much better than driving a marked-up, lesser-performing, all-hat-and-no-cattle build off someone's lot, IMO. That's with 24V and two alternators.

Here is a link to an update on this installation. I am the owner of the Interstate and the testimonial speaks for itself. We could not be happier with the Volta system.
