Transmission and Brake Fluid

When, or do you, change the transmission and brake fluid in the Sprinter?

Trans fluid should be done every 80k or sooner. I use Shell 134 trans fluid (MB approved), instead of the dealer supplied fluid- much cheaper, and the gasket/filter set from Europarts of San Diego. Brake fluid flush every three years or so.

Typically a long time down the road (miles) for both. I would look in your manual and see if you can find it, as it may be in the maintenance schedule. Then Mercedes Sprinter service department.

Do you have reason to believe that it is time?

My 2013 Maintenance Manual says the transmission fluid should be changed every 40,000 miles, and the brake fluid every 2 years.

My 2011 manual says every other Service B (called Maintenance Service in the manual) which would be 40,000 miles for the tranny.

It says every two years to renew the brake fluid.
