I did get in for a check up at my Dr’s this afternoon, y’all, and am fine.

pricing

So sorry to hear of your incident/accident and hope that you do come through it unscathed.

One place to look for values is nadaguides.com. They have a section for RV's. I don't know anything about it's authority in the industry, but it might give you a baseline. Note that high mileage on diesel engines does not impact value in their system, like it does with a gasser.

Good luck!

And, tho I’m not necessarily going to post the blow-by-blow, I am going to post the outcomes with AAA and State Farm here.

We give a lot of coverage to best roadside, RV and vehicle coverage here, and I have always championed these two....I’d like to believe they will do the right thing by me, and want others to know.

I’ve already had a small tussle with AAA by phone yesterday, when I called about car rental reimbursement and related expenses, per my coverage I was told this is good only 100 or more miles from home and only for the first 72 hours after an accident rendering ones vehicle not driveable.

Standing by the road last Thursday, talking with AAA, I was assured vehicle rental and related expenses to get me home were covered, not told only for 72 hours post accident.

More than 500 miles from home, after a major accident, I would have had to immediately rent a vehicle large enough to hold the contents of the Interstate, empty the Interstate out, and get myself home...all within 3 days, to be covered.

We’ll see how this works out.

Maggie

We will be very interested to know how the insurance portion of all of this pans out

There have been a multitude of threads and discussions on the forums about insurance and how the industry really works. Being that insurance is something we all have in common and accidents are something we can have or have been part of the more informed the better we can all proceed.

I liked how you started this thread. The more verbage and procedural information you're informed about the more informed you can speak to the subject matter when dealing with your companies.

Well, did you have them run the special scan that says you still have the bug that entices you to own a new AI???

So sorry that this happened. Wrecks suck. Hoping everything works out and your next ride is even better than the last one.

Think you, tobbun.

I don’t want one of the new, tricked out, gadgeted, electronic Interstates, nor can I afford one.

Neither can I think about another anything just yet...but, I do think the time will come.

Somehow, I think you will soon, coz you have a very good outlook on things and helps put these things in perspective. Not to divert attention, maybe you can post pic of Lily to brighten our day

So glad you and Lily are okay!

When our Tundra was totaled last year by a driver insured by a fly by night insurer, Allstate made me an offer that I thought a bit low and was told by Allstate that they use a third party valuation and it never gets changed. I found the exact twin of my truck (right down to the color) that was on the market for $1000 more than what I was offered. I combined this info with upgrades I had done to the truck and got the third party to raise the offer by $750. So comps are really important ammunition. They will also try to get you with similar vehicles in your vicinity. No one buys locally anymore especially Airstreams si make them accept comps from as far away as you would be willing to drive to. Above all, stick to your guns.

Very glad you and Lilly are ok. You gave me a tour of your rig at Alumalina a few years ago and it was a beauty. Here is a link to a current Craig's list posting in the SC Upstate - it has the twins in the back like yours, but not sure about the 'Parkway' reference: https://greenville.craigslist.org/rv...602906898.html

Out Of Doors Mart sold a very clean one last fall that was about the same year as yours, but different layout and lower miles, and it was listed for about 44k, to give a sense of the range.

My guess is that you will end up teaching all the rest of us how to get through this in the best possible way.

Totaled Interstate Valuation

Just to clarify. I did subrogation with Allstate because I needed a replacement truck and I knew that the other "fly by night" insurance would never pay. Allstate has been our insurance for more than 40 years and have always treated us well.

Just wanted to clarify.

YES! Maggie this does really help! Put this information in your agent's hands... and invite her/him to read your main threads. (Different carrier, but being held in high regard here helped me... "check the asking price on Airforums.com." Dealers may appreciate publicity opportunity from finding you a reasonably priced replacement too.)
