This trippy "butterfly effect" brought to me by racing bikes, as follows:

If y'all hadn't started talking about bikes...

Then I would not have known that #toolboxwars was A Thing...

And I would not have gone to Instagram to look it up...

And I would not have learned that #toolporn was also a hashtag...

And I would not have had found the vendor Veto Pro Pac through the #toolporn hastag...

And I would not have ever made it to their website because, as a tradesman supply shop, they do not advertise or sell to consumers...

Which means I would not have learned that one of their dealers is an HVAC distributorship six minutes away from my house...

So I would not have phoned that distributorship and learned that they actually have the Tech MC bag in stock...

Which means that I would not have purchased it at lunch today...

And then driven another 3 miles to our storage garage...

So that I could verify that it does, in fact, fit my target storage area like it was made for it...

And not only that, it's black and gray like it was styled just for the T1N Interstate....

Such that it looks like it should have been there all along.

***

It's an odd world in which we live. If you trace my morning path geographically from step to step, it is thousands of virtual miles long. And yet that path ended just 2 miles from my own house.

Bear in mind, the pics below show the bag unstuffed. There's a little extra room at the top of the under-couch storage bay, but that will be consumed when the bag gets fattened with tools.

That Veto Pro Pac is mighty sexy, very tempting.

I've really liked these compact small parts organizers... Husky from HD. Two of them fit perfectly into one of the magazine racks in the far rear. For such a small cost it is surprising how sturdy these are, with very little problems from the adjustable dividers. Much better than Sterilite products, in my opinion.

TRONADORA - Thanks for tip. To date all I have there are my 2 lab smocks and mechanic grease overalls, only because I was too lazy to find what container fits better. Now you saved me time. Off to HD tomo. Those Husky are certainly much better for that slots, I will move the overalls in some plastic bag somewhere

WHY lots of Energizer batteries? Is that for boondocking when AS batts drain halfway thru night of boondocking?

Great find, thanks!

Scroll down the page to see larger/taller models. A great solution especially for lying down in its storage space!

TRONADORA: Yes, I think it's the handsomest tool bag on the internet.

OTRA: Yes, many sizes. When I went into the HVAC distributor, they had a vendor's display rack with several different sizes and models on it. I was like, "WOW."

The little one fit our space, but even with its small size, it's still half empty. We now have the option to develop a PROPER set of tools for our rig, given that we have a place to organize them.

Here's a pic with our existing tools fitted into it. These tools are all mis-matched old spares from the garage. The only item on the opposite side of the bag is the multi-meter, although I have inserted the fitted box of sockets in there too, given that the space is not otherwise consumed.

Husky also makes a polycarbonate storage box which I really like - BUT, it is 2.7 inches thick, which is probably too large for my target spaces. I only have 2.5 inches available.

I will advise, though, that if you are trying to fill specific spaces, make your own measurements. Some of the products have published measurements that are off by just enough to be a problem.

An example is the Tellfresh pastry storer. That's a large flat box that I was hoping to slide vertically in the slot next to our microwave oven, so that I could use it as a "mini-pantry" for tea and drink mixes, packaged condiments, etc. But I measured it in Container Store and it's a few tenths of an inch too large for my space.

INTERBLOG - Nice. Here's the thing - the worst-of-the-worst mismatched beat-up old spares in a Pro tool case still looks like a pro mechanic's toolkit -vs- the best-of-the-best tools scattered all over a big plastic bin

Vote Yes to the Tool bag very nice! Tool porn made me smile. I absolutely love organizational porn! But I won't be looking it up I'll just be following along on this thread. That bag may have to come home to our house though.
