The realtor wanted best and final at 5:30 pm after the home had only been listed a couple days.

My guess is that some developer (HGTV perhaps?) would be interested in stuffing it with vintage furniture and air BnB-ing it for $500 a night.

(1) Yes, with minor mods possibly needed. The doors are 10' nominal and 9'10" effective (I measured in 3 places), and our van is 9'9" tall. In the event it could not fit due to pavement inflection or simply heart-stoppage on my part at the lack of margin for error, I spoke yesterday with the City building code inspector who assured me that a six inch door adjustment would not be something he would deny - that is not a material change to the property.

(2) The sellers were taking best and final at 5 p.m. yesterday. As of this moment, the listing status has NOT shifted to "pending", which is curious to me. I know they got multiple offers. I don't know if any of them were to their satisfaction. Maybe they are still deliberating or maybe their agent is reserving the sale announcement for a press release - I don't know.

To expound, that's what HGTV did with the Brady Bunch house within the past year or so - they replicated the finishes, taking it from an historic property to one that is now an historic AND nostalgic money-maker.

While the Moon landing was not as popular with Americans as the Brady Bunch TV show, neither would the likely investment be as high. So LB_3 and I were quaking in our boots at the prospect of potentially competing with some commercial investor whose pockets are orders of magnitude deeper than ours.
