Surprise Message Upon startup

I took my EXT out for a 30 mile run this morning. It has been sitting in the driveway (plugged in) for the past 5 weeks. When I parked, it had 5700 miles on it....still had that when I got in.

When I started it up I had a message pop up.... "Service A Due in 24 days"...... The last I time I checked it said I had ~8000 miles to Schedule A service.

Did I miss something in the manual?

The Sprinter ASSYST keeps track of miles and time since your last service. The time warning starts one month before service is due. The miles between servicing are 10,000 or 15,000 depending on your model year. I could not find the time interval mentioned in maintenance manual, but your Sprinter thinks you need service in 24 days. Probably tripping the time interval because you have not driven it in a long time. Check with a MB dealer for details on time intervals for service.

Hope this helps.

You did make me remember one thing that also surprised me.....but that was months ago. I have a 2013/2012 Airstream/chassis. I thought the 2012 chassis had a 10000 interval. This one started the mileage countdown at 15000. I already mentioned that to my local Sprinter dealer and they we're going to check it when I got back in town......still out of town until late October. Looks like I will be going about 14 days after the current time count runs out.
On the plus side of it all......my new Lifeline batteries are performing like a pair of champs.
The trip has been great, except for a few squeaks that developed driving some older Michigan roads....get to track them down the next time my wife drives.
