Starter will not engage, vehicle battery good

FYI - Yesterday morning I had planned to leave frigid ND, but my interstate knew better. 23 below and no sign of life from starter. Vehicle battery was good. After messing with it all morning, went on Internet and found that starter motor fuse, was undersized from factory and should have been 25 amp instead of 20 amp. Fuse #23 and is located on fuse panel on outside of driver footwell. If everything look good but the starter won't engage, check fuse #23...

Hopefully I will be in southern Texas in a day or two where it will mostly stay above freezing...

Good tip on the fuse, and good luck with your trip!

Your weather-related challenges certainly make mine look trivial. Over the next 10 days or so, it's not entirely clear which side of the freezing line much of south and southeast Texas will be on. I'm gearing up to take my teenager on another college tour and she assumed that we will be taking the Interstate, as we've done in the past. I told her I'm not sure yet - it depends on how conditions evolve. We have to head inland, and if it gets too cold, we'll have to (gulp) take a passenger car and stay at a hotel instead. Oh, the ignominy of it; I may never recover from the trauma.
