Could you please tell me how much they charged for labor, or how many hours they took? I'm trying to decide whether to have my local guy install a retro fit from Shoreline. (I'm presuming your part number was CRRK-01). The Airstream advisor says that a total replacement is cheaper, because of labor; I'm not ready to accept that.

Update on our situation: we removed the plastic hose guides at the opening to the reel compartment (as others suggested) and are able to manually deploy and store the hose on the reel. Not a great permanent solution, but at least we can dump OK.

We completely agree with your analysis, which is why we had our dealer rebuild ours with the kit we got from Shoreline. Actually, they seemed to appreciate that we brought the van in with the necessary parts, because it made the job a bit faster for them (e.g. no need to order and wait for parts before digging in).

I would, but I don't remember and I don't have the paperwork handy. I'm sure it was at least 2-3 hours of labor.

We are waiting to hear from our advisor in Ft Myers on same question. Will report back. The rebuild kit we have is model CRRK-01

Final results: I ordered the kit (circa $65) from Boat & RV Accessories .

Local shop installed it for 4.2 hours of labor. All in all, probably saved a little relative to a complete replacement by Airstream. Hopefully the quality of the retro kit is better.

Flushed the tanks thoroughly and put in the new clutch kit. Not easy to get to without a lift. Once you get it out and on a bench the clutch install and directions are easy. Some pictures with notes
