Well, it ain't mine, but it's something. And it might even be a 19. It was an Interstate I spotted between Nashville and Memphis about a month ago. It looks like it's wearing a little bowler hat.

We have one on our 24.4' new-to-us extended lounge. It's a large, very noticeable, black cylindrical bulb on the roof. Definitely taller than the AC unit. We're having it removed from our roof in December because we don't watch satellite TV and we want the space for solar panels.

Hmm...that does not look like the Winegard dish. It's wider and not as tall. I actually like that design better.

Heh heh... that last photo in the post above reminded me of my husband ripping me a new one whenever I place my rear wheels directly against the curb.

I'm a religious-fervor back-ALL-the-way-in proponent, and from that photo it's easy to see why - because the nose sticks out too far, and I worry about getting clipped.

But I sometimes hit my rear wheels, which has a tendency to rip the mud flaps clean off. More than once, husband has repaired them. The trick is to place the vehicle just right, within a couple of inches, which is difficult with a 23.5-foot rig, especially for me (poor eyesight, depth perception especially).

My rationale for erring on the side of bumping: it's several orders of magnitude cheaper to re-pin mud flaps than it is to re-tool the front-end ground effects after a scrape.

Sat Pics

Thanks for all the pics, theyve saved me from an expensive mistake. Showed them to my wife and she has vetoed the idea of the dome on top! Ill just go with the portable setup with a tripod when I want TV-mostly when I tailgate.

Good move. No dome is better than dome. In my book, it makes the rig too tall, and does not look very nice. Also, the portable antenna gives you far more flexibility in case you want to park the van in the shade.

picture of in-motion satellite dish

Captured this picture from RVTrader today. Definitely sticks up fairly high relative to other roof items.
