Replacing LP Regulator on Interstate

Hi, all. Is there a good way to get to the propane regulator on the AI? Mine is a 2017 24GT. I crawled under my van and was a little discouraged to see that it's situated in a metal box behind the hose spool for the gray/black water dump (see the attached pictures). Maybe it's less daunting than it appears. Otherwise, I'm starting to wonder if I should schedule an appointment with the nearest Airstream dealer. Thanks!

Drop the metal box by unhooking the hose from the Macerator and then removing 3 screws. I just replaced the valve because it was bad. While I was in there, I replaced the regulator.

Hello, I have same Airstream Interstate just 2016 and the LP regulator is leaking. Was you able to replace it and where did you find a new one. I called Airstream dealer and they are 6 weeks waiting time. Sergei

Hi, Sergei. My problem actually turned out to not be the regulator, so I didn't replace it. The fuel level gauge had broken. It registered as partially full when it was actually empty, so I had actually run out of propane without realizing it.

Ask the Airstream people quietly if they can recommend another outfit. That's what I did here in the ABQ area and found the place that does very good service without the months of waiting that happens at Airstream.

I just replaced mine a month ago: JR Products 07-30375 Excess Flow POL Regulator, SILVER, available on Amazon for $52
It's a little larger than the original on my 2015 GT but it fit after removing the plastic guard that covered the old one. In my opinion the location has enough protection from the elements and the guard wasn't doing much anyway

Works great, no more propane smell

Thank you! I was able to remove old regulator, it took less than hour. Found a new one on EBay for $35. Should receive it on Saturday.

Airstream dealership offered a new one for $150 and 6 weeks waiting, plus $300 for labor.

Hello everyone, finished project today. $35 for a brand new LP regulator, $4 for LP tape and about hour and half to remove old and install new. Used Rino plastic ramps under driver side rear wheels to raise RV enough to be comfortable under. Didn't remove or disconnect anything except old regulator. No propane leak anymore.
