Dear John,
If you purchased the whole shade, the motor is already installed and adjusted. If you purchased only the motor, in the factory we leave the adjustment screw in middle area by default, but we do not know in advance what size of shade this motor is going to be installed into. The length of shade are so much different on different applications. We are supplier of many different OEMs and many of these motors are used on huge windshield of buses and RVs, and sometimes in a very small shade. That is why we initially set it somewhere in the middle. There are some more factors as well, like when you insert the motor, the fabric is already fully rolled up or the shade is fully down. All these parameters affect on how many turn you initially need to turn to set the limit. Once it is adjusted, if in future you decide to change it a little higher or lower, you just need to adjust a fraction of a turn.
