What do you mean by wireless? I just installed the factory recommended model and it IS wireless. If you mean "does not require any 12v power" - I searched long and hard and did not come up with a viable industrial strength option.

I wanted a GPS (I have a 2006, so no built in)- therefore I got a Garmin GPS with optional Wirelss backup camera.
I like the adjustable guide lines and it work a quite well.

I just power the camera from the reverse lamp- when it comes on, the camera come on and automatically connects.

The wireless system still requires 12v power, but does not have to be hard wired from camera to monitor, which is very difficult when replacing camera..

Wired Camera Solution

I installed a wired camera in the bumper of my 2013 Classic AS.

I am now able to view video on demand from TV rear view camera during hitch up or the AS bumper camera using a video select toggle switch mounted on TV dash. Video is crisp and clear night or day.

Bumper camera video cable is installed in a flex conduit and pop riveted to outside of belly pan front to rear. Power for cameras are provided by the video selection switch located in TV. The conduit also carries a 12VDC 20 Amp service line to the rear of AS that is providing power for the Flojet sewage macerator pump.

It's not as difficult as many other projects, especially in T1N Interstates. It just involves taking the cab and slider liners down, taking both upper cabinet end caps off, and running the wire back. This older thread has plenty of pics of that process, but it may be different in the newer Interstates.

Pearl RearVision

I have a Valor backup camera monitor in my 2011 AI which has intermittent blue screen problem. I recently purchased Pearl Auto RearVision Camera system to provide additional rearview capability. It is very easy to install and the image quality is great. However, it is kind expensive. https://pearlauto.com/

I located a great rear view camera system from Rearviewsafety.com, made specifically for MB sprinter vans. The camera is integrated into the high third brake light ..Its a hard wired system, with clip on monitor. It has a 180degree view. The cost was $299.. Installation cost is $159.00 from Best Buy , the audio /camera geeks..an authorized installer for the camera..Model # 916619

I want the Garmin on my 2001. Where did you put the transmitter and run the wiring? Pictures?

Thanks

John

I power the rear camera from the right rear reverse lamp.
(I am going install a DPDT relay, so I can also power it whenever I want)

The transmitter is beside the right rear upper cabinet- there was already a bolt.
That gives a straight shot to the GPS pickup (on the power cable)

I also have a plan to mount the GPS on a short stand- on top of the radio. I'll cut a hole in the grill there- with a rubber grommit I think it will look good.

I don't have a picture of that (since I have not completed)- but will post one later.
