I was not the person who busted a hole in that sign - I swear. But it’s all good - I’m not a truck, I’m a van.



The restrictions are so that vehicles will not consume more than one space. At eight bucks an hour per space, that would be lossy for the lot owner. So I find the spots that have dead space at the nose or tail so that they cannot accuse me of that.

Well, you know how we feel about other states (light-heartedly), and so yes, we would invert Nevada, if we were going to represent it. In that vein, I almost bought a T-shirt in the Capitol gift shop yesterday, a T-shirt with my favorite Davy Crockett saying emblazoned across the back. I’ll go get one after I measure my best-fit armpit to armpit T-shirt.

Did you know that you can do that? If you are a man, the fit perhaps is not as important to you. But I look enough like a sad sack as it is - I don’t need to further compound my wretched appearance with an ill-fitting T-shirt.



So, ladies, take your favorite fitted T-shirt, measure the front face in inches from armpit to armpit when it’s not on you (lay it flat), and then carry a small cloth measuring tape in your handbag. If you see a T-shirt that you MUST have, just measure it from armpit to armpit to pick the best size for you. Because they are all sized differently, you know. One vendor’s medium is not someone else’s medium. Not even remotely.

My Interstate 19 in Grand Gulf Military State Park near Port Gibson, Mississippi.

This is actually a picture of my Interstate... with 3 other Airstreams in the frame, reflected in the side of my rig to look like 6. These being 3 of the 19 Airstreams surrounding me.

I’m in Austin’s famed Pecan Grove, where monthly spot rentals are now between $1,100 and $1,300 (and where there are already 100 people on the waiting list for same, with no more waiters being signed up). The eclectic diversity of these denizens went wa-ay down as the price went wa-ay up. But the development pressures are so intense in this part of town that I hope the owners keep right on raising their fees, or it’ll get bought out, and a mid-century icon that helps to define Austin will vanish.

As you can see from the photo, Austin looks like someone took a blow-torch to it. Every scrap of vegetation was killed in the Big Freeze.

The Lodge is open with new owners and they are great. The food is Excellent !!!
Beautiful place with about 7 Class A RV spots with full hookups.
