Every time I think 2020 can't get any worse, it does.

So much for that hope. Hurricane Teddy is forecast to strike Nova Scotia directly. Even if the track wavers in the next few days, some part of the province is going to get hammered. As it stands, the current track puts my property in a direct strike by the dirty side, with the worst possible wind approach angle. It’s almost the same track as Dorian which hit 1 year and 3 days ago. Maybe worse.

Two weeks ago, my husband wanted to hide the picnic table off to one side of the property. I said, “Nope, it’s going into the center of the parking pad where falling trees will do it the least damage.”

Crazy, just crazy. Hurricanes are one thing you'd think Canada was immune from, but no more.

And Beta is spinning like a drunken top in the southern Gulf. Maybe another to your hometown of Houston. You're getting a possible double-wammy. I wish you the best.

It’s very important to NEVER, EVER ask the question, “what else can go wrong?”

Trust me, you don’t want to know, and you need to keep in mind Mother Nature is an absolute brat under the best of circumstances. Never tempt the fates.

We got our answer around 10 p.m. last night when the National Weather Service released an updated Hurricane Beta forecast.

I own two properties three thousand miles apart, and there's an excellent chance that both will be hit by hurricanes on the same day - Hurricane Teddy in Nova Scotia and Hurricane Beta here in Galveston County.

My word. Come Tuesday, I won't know which television channel to turn on.

Anyway, I got up at the butt crack of dawn to get the house put in order and everything staged in case we have to evacuate. Our house is 120-mph wind-rated, so we can ride out a small hurricane, but there's still a lot of uncertainty in this one. Plus these things make a mess no matter their size. And groceries.... well, let's just say that I expect even more problems.

Some folks in my subdivision boarded up for Hurricane Laura and then said screw it, we are leaving the plywood in place until end of this crazy season. So they are a few steps ahead of me.

For possibly the first time, I’m posting a pic of someone else’s Interstate instead of my own.

I sent a message to Mishka inviting them to join us here in this forum to tell us a little about what’s been done to mod and accessorize their Interstate, because obviously a lot has been done.

Back to Lost Maples

October and November are booked solid. I found a cancellation for 2 nights and grabbed it. No color this early, but I enjoy the mountains.

Left the Austin area in driving rainstorm, but outran it before Kerrville. Cloudy the rest of the way. Stopped in Menard for a sliced brisket sandwich and made a note to stop there on the way home.

From Menard to Lost Maples is an arm exercise and some really steep ups and downs. Park was full, but some did not show up. I suspect it was the rain.

The photo is the cliffs along the Sabinal River. The RV sites are at about 1730' and the mountain goes over 2000'. My guess is that the cliffs are 80' to 100'

Interstate 19 Satelite Pics

Any pictures of a 19 with satellite dome installed? Mine comes in in Dec/Jan so I’m looking to see how large it looks on the roof.

So many nice photos, and now we finally get to play. Out on Marathon Key at Jolly Roger RV Park, socially distant, on our first outing with Rocinante Piccolo.

I nicknamed those cherry bellies, first cousins to blue bellies. It looks like it is in wonderful shape. Congrats!

Arizona has a lot of dispersed camping areas and it's not all desert. We're near Show Low in an area that was quite lonely :-)Click image for larger version
