Parking in Seattle

Has anyone parked for an extended period of time in downtown Seattle?

Public parking --- metered --- in downtown Seattle is typically $5-7 an hour for no longer than two hours (fours hours in outlying areas). In the last few years, the City of Seattle has increasingly looked to its metered parking, and the fines for their violations, as a source of income & has correspondingly increased its enforcement. You might be able to find extended private parking in downtown Seattle, but, because parking downtown is scarce, I would expect it to be expensive. A day's parking in private lots downtown is typically $25-50. In my limited experience, the Seattle Library has the least (or is close to the least) expensive all-day parking downtown.

You could park in Bremerton or Bainbridge by driving around south of Olympia and then north. That way you could just walk on the ferry to Seattle. The daily rate for an RV park would likely be cheaper than parking downtown, and much safer for you and your rig.

Seattle was the worst place to park. Hotel we stayed at was very upscale and not helpful at all-just not used to RVers I guess --we had better help in downtown Chicago. We found a place by the water for around $20 a day and it worked out-need to find the attendant during day hours to arrange - after hours arrangement was tough and had to move a couple times the first day. Good luck!! Note we parked at Port Angeles for 3 days at $6 a day-left and took ferry to Victoria to explore on foot. That was fun!
