^^ Exactly... in a 12" span I doubt flex will be an issue with a 1/8" thick sheet... but better to be safe-safe
I thought about using 1/4" plexiglass sheet... still thinking about it... but that aluminum will look better...

Have you seen the you Tube Videos from Humble Road? Entertaining fellow... He is building a van out using this type of structure - working on the kitchen now. You might find it interesting.

Yes - highly recommend Humble Road. He is a professional photographer and makes the best quality video I’ve seen on YouTube. They are informative and funny.

Make sure you have whatever containers that will go on your shelf at hand before building it. I didn't, unfortunately. If I had made the shelf 1/2" lower, I could double-stack my containers. If I had made it an inch wider, I could rotate my containers and get one more on the shelf.
Widening the shelf would be difficult and messy since it is all laminated with Asian Sand laminate. I could lower the shelf 1/2" without too much trouble, but it really isn't worth the effort at this point.

John... well looks like I did it again... I ordered the material based on available space with the measurements I took instead of getting containers and validating if those would work or if just a small change in dimension would have worked better... I just don't learn...

My boxes are similar and really work well. Mine clip closed in the same way, but are from a different manufacturer. They nest well when stacked 2 high in the rear overhead storage. Unfortunately, I am about 1/4" short of nesting them on my shelf.

Because I still want to be able to use the side cushions extensions for the bed, I will need to keep the overall structure height at 11". That means only 9" of available space between shelf and ceiling, 12" between front and back support, and 55" between side/end rails. Overall structure dimensions are as mentioned before - 11" x 15" x 58".
I plan to get some bungee cords as well to make sure these boxes do not go flying while traveling. Also thinking if I should build some sliding doors like those in the front cabinet... these would hide the storage boxes and provide a cleaner look...
On other news, this arrived today. Oil filters should be here tomorrow. So I should be able to do the oil change this weekend.

WACHUKO - yeah, it's always my concern when I have stuff behind rear passenger seat in our minivan & station wagon that it does not become a flying projectile in a sudden stop, especially if passengers are sitting in rear. I try to keep only soft goods up that high and even inside the overhead compartments. Fortunately for us, we carry more soft goods than hard/heavy stuff that we are able to use that strategy.
I just finished an oil change on 2 of my vehicles this weekend and just realized that I do not have a large enough oil drain container - it's a puny 9 qt. capacity. I never had a monster 13.2 qt. oil pan before, my 750il only takes 8 qt. & my S500 only 8.5 qt. and I thought those were huge. I thought the Sprinter was same 8.5 qt. but maybe those were the older models. Glad I caught it before I scheduled my oil change. Ordering a bigger drain container from Amazon.
There is now a wired-in Qualcomm QC3.0 Quick Charge Dual USB charger. Amazon has it for $18. Now I can do your dash mod. Been waiting for this for so long. FYI - if you are replacing yours, take note the threaded body diameter is only 1.1" and face-flange is only 1.4". Just make sure your dash hole is not larger. And make sure you choose the correct one out of the 6 options, only 1 is QC3.0

Alex, thank you. Order placed for four. I am just going to replace all of the ones in the AI. No issues with the dimensions. Those are identical, size wise, to the ones I have there so it will be an easy swap.
On the oil drain container. I am used to oil changes needing 12 quarts of oil... I have large enough containers to handle the AI

WACHUKO - I ordered 4 also but not sure (don't remember) if I can just remove the external screw-mount flange on the existing 2 in the rear and re-use for the new ones. Does not matter, worse case, I will fill the cabinet screw holes. More important for me to have the QC3.0. Besides, the one in the galley quit working and dealer still hasn't gotten the replacement.
FYI - I have many pics from different angles of the E&P Leveling brackets but only the rear for now. I will post it in a folder in my OneDrive acct and post the link here for you (or anyone else). There are currently 2 folders in there -EP Leveler Driver side rear & EP Leveler Passenger side rear. I have not had time to get the front ones 'coz a little harder when I don't have the VB Air to raise the fronts. I will lift up the front with the levelers and put blocks under front tires to get me the room to take nice pics for you.
PS - you will notice how the LPG box is really close to the levelers, even it's hoses are tie wrapped on the levelers. Hence my hesitation on whether your mod will work for me. Here's the other thing, the levelers are at the same low clearance and location as the LPG box. Point is, even if I relocate the LPG box, my non-relocatable levelers is still the low point. So moving the LPG box may only be an aesthetic move for me.

Yes, rear plates can be reused...once these get here I can also check if the rubber covers can be reused as well.
Very detailed photos of the jacks and mounts!!! Thank you. Those will help me when I start to build the brackets that I will need. Thank you again!!

That I would like to see. Our doors are not warping, and we live in a bloody swamp. Hatch another thread if you feel it's worth talking about.

When we first bought our 06 Interstate in 2007, there were some warped cabinet doors that we had with some difficulty replaced under warranty.
The bathroom door never did fit flush.
The 11 year old one I just bought has no warped doors, everything is flush and symmetrical.

The warped cabinet doors were what I refer to as “visually disturbing”.

Amazing. I've been so pleased with how ours have stood the test of time. There may be a tiny amount of deformation here or there, but not enough to concern me.
