Newbie Needing Help and Feeling Stupid

Hello,

We just picked up a new to us 2017 Interstate GT. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading just about everything on this site. So much great information.

In the process with a battery and solar upgrade. Couldn't have done it with out you all. Plan to be off grid camping as much as possible and potentially catch a few fish in the rivers in the West.

But I am embarrassed to ask a really stupid question.

My rear jump seats are in the folded bed down position. Both are stuck in place and will not budge to put them back in the chair position.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Pull up on the back and the bottom at the same time. It will form a V shape and then push bottom down and seat will go in to place. Hope that makes sense?

Relax. There are no stupid questions--only people who are afraid to ask. Those who laugh at us for asking are the stupid ones.

Welcome to the Airstream family.

Thanks for the reply Getridaone. We have slept with these down last week and they folded back perfectly. Not sure why they are stuck now.

I will keep trying.

Thx

The hinges seem to loosen up with use. Mine were very stiff when they were new.

Mine seem to be positioned too much towards the walls of the coach. I can get them started to the up position by pulling up on the 'top' of the back and the 'front' of the bottom. Grab the seat back at the side or you'll pinch your fingers between the seat back and the wall. But if I don't keep them moving the back hits the wall in the half-way-up position and it sticks there. Once it stops I really have to work to get it past this half-way point.

Lithium upgrade

5280Docker, congratulations and welcome to the Airstream Community & Forums!

Check out the video from Irene Iron Fitness about their Lithium & Victron Inverter Upgrade on their Interstate. Aaron and Chris do a great job of explaining how they manage to full-time in theirs. They are also Airstream Ambassadors. Here’s the inverter install video.

By the way, we were just out your way last week at Chatfield and Cheyenne Mountain State Parks. DW’s friend lives in the ‘Springs. You are so lucky to live in paradise for camping!

Titas. That did the trick. The AI was sitting idle for some time so likely when used more it will loosen up as my friend said earlier in the post. Thanks all.

Jeff. Actually I subscribe to your channel and will be following a very similar set up. Purchasing the Battle Borns this week and hope to have the install done in mid June. Also going 400ws on top. I’ve watched you video a lot. Thanks for posting that.

Keep up with the good work. We enjoy watching you both in your journeys.

5280BDocker,

Getridaone & Titus are both 1000% dead on with their guidance and if you can now combine the gyrations of both youíll be on easy street!
I totally had the same struggles with my new 2018...keep @ it for practice will make perfect
Have a great & safe weekend!

Randy, just to set the record straight, Iím not the owner of the YouTube channel, just recommending it! Aaron and Chris, owners of the channel do a great job and and genuinely nice people. Good luck with your planned upgrades!
