Leanne and I love our Bialetti coffee maker. It makes some of the best coffee I've had.
The "9-cup" model filled with a medium-fine grind from our Capresso burr grinder (dial set to 3.5) makes two cups of very nice strong coffee. It's small, works on the stovetop, impossible to burn the coffee, and doesn't require coffee filters.

No electric involved. Heated up the water on the LP powered stove. The same pot gets used each time for the water so it just rinses out after breakfast. Same boil pot also works over a back packable "stove" if you want to keep the heat outdoors. The windows are all open (so far) today so why bother? There's also the minor issue of the rain storm earlier

Well, how about the fancy stuff, a bit pricey but then it's for an AI; a NESSPRESSO machine and a milk frother, you have your fine tasting cappuccinos every morning.
The machine is compact and the inverter just handles the load with not much else going. Or you run the generator for five or ten minutes.

I personally prefer my Starbucks - iced venti espresso 4 shots, decaf, 6 pumps mocha, topped with half & half! How's that for screwing up a cup of java?!?!

Yes! That's the start of making a Café Don Juan! The other ingredients are Kahlua, a teaspoon of sugar, and whipped cream. Top with grated dark chocolate, if desired.
Try this website for a variety of other alcoholic coffee beverages:

Coffee done right
Pour over, single cup is the way. Your are in the best with an AS so spurge on premium single source and grind with hand grinder if boondocking

Made my coffee, (fresh ground 8 Oclock brand) at 4:20AM this morning.
Since I dont have anything to eat until noon, I do lighten it with half & half and a teaspoon of raw sugar, that is my breakfast. 2 mugs worth!

Almost 20 years ago while visiting my former in-laws in Seattle, when Starbucks was still a quasi-new phenomenon, I declared that I would refuse to pay three bucks for a cup of coffee. They responded by buying me a latte and tricking me into the car by myself, whereby they activated the child lock system and and announced that they weren't letting me back out until I had consumed it. A fond memory, but I never did develop a taste for Starbucks. I do, however, pay about $140 per pound for excellent quality gyokuro.

Hi
Just so you don't feel bad about "going over the top" on your coffee setup, you *could* be using:
https://us.jura.com/en/homeproducts/...5-Alu-UL-13623
I just can't quite work out how to pack it when in transit
Some people have a *major* coffee habit ....
Just for the record, I don't have a Giga, but I do have one of the other Jura's at home. They are great machines. My siphon setups are all glass. If they weren't I might bring one along in the AS.

Jura machines are great at home, but for the road, we take one of these for size and convenience.

[COLOR="Blue"]I am wondering just how many go through these elaborate ways of making coffee then IMO ruin it by adding sugar, milk or cream. It is like adding a coke to expensive sipping rum which my wife does all of the time.
I originally posted the above and then looked at the web site, http://www.coffeedetective.com/alcoh...ee-drinks.html, that Protagonist posted and made a value decision that this is Ok because you are adding coffee to the liquor and not the other way around. I know, I know this is a very small point, however, it is critical point because the coffee is not the main ingredient. Anyway life is to short not to have fun so enjoy your java anyway you like it.

These days I prefer my coffee without alcohol, but in my younger days when I was a social drinker* and moonlighted at a bar in the French Quarter, I preferred my coffee with alcohol.
*A social drinker in New Orleans would be considered an alcoholic anywhere else in the US!

Yikes! That Jura GIGA 5 is really over the top at $5,600.... and I thought the $700 I paid for my De'Longhi automatic espresso machine was almost too much.

We love our Nespresso machine! An espresso for me and a latte for Mrs... A bit decadent but oh so nice, and easy too.

Hi
If you ever decide to go with a Jura machine, shop around. The list price is only there to scare you. That said, even after you shop, the Giga isn't going to be cheap by anybody's standards. Wife will kick me every time I slow down looking at one in the shop
One interesting tidbit: If you *do* get any of the Jura's, the service depot for them is in central PA. Last time I was there it was pre-RV. I *think* there is room in the lot for a TV + trailer. They will repair them while you wait.
No, I can't see any of them being very practical in the AS. That hasn't stopped me thinking about it though. I'll probably rig a padded box for a siphon setup before I do anything more exotic.

The major factor in determining which one cup brewer to use in our GT is the size and availability of the pods. Limited storage precludes leaving home with an adequate supply for more than a week or so. As far as I know, K cups are the only pod widely available at retail. The others seem to require mail order. We don't use K cups in our home kitchen, but settle for what's available.
