More storage
Anyone who has followed my posts over the years knows that I HATE wasted space. I have owned 5 trailers in the past and each has been substantially modified to add storage everywhere I could find it.
My 2014.5 AI has a blank DIN socket in the area over the map lights. I notice in photos that this has disappeared at some time in later year models. That blank panel has bugged me for 16 months. I finally ordered a DIN 1 storage box on EBay for $10. It took a month to get here from China and was here when I arrived home today from a rally.
The new box was a bit small for the opening, I suspect it was intended to go behind a frame. I spent some time with the bandsaw modifying the blank panel into a frame. I fastened the modified blank panel to the new part and it is now in place.
Not a lot of space, but it will be the repository for all of the various fuel, road service, and park cards that need a permanent place in the AI.
