Microwave

New to forum and have a question for those that have been around awhile. When we bought or rig we were told that it had a convection/microwave. Dealer even called Airstream and was told the same. Come to find out this is not true of the 2014.5's that have the Sharp micro drawer. What have others done about this? Or am I missing something. Thanks

Welcome to the forum first time poster!
Mine has a Cuisinart microwave which does have a convection oven.
Airstream are in the habit of changing things mid-year so it's not a surprise. You might try pressing the dealer for a replacement microwave if its important to you since they're not that expensive, but having had mine for 3 years now, I don't remember the time we last used the convection option. So you may decide it's not worth pursing.

The Sharp microwave drawer is not convection. But they are considerably more expensive than the Cuisinart. I'm sure Airstream converted to the Sharp drawer microwave because it is easier to use since the controls are more accessible.

More specific

I should have been more specific, I do indeed have the newer Sharp drawer unit Airstream started using with Grand Tour. I believe they started using this because it is below the counter with little room for a front swinging door unit. Most door units swing from left to right. With the micro at end of kitchen cabinets and up against bed if folded down, it would be almost impossible to open and place anything into the microwave.
I guess we have resigned ourselves to this, but I feel duped by dealer and Airstream, as this was something we specifically inquired about.

Since you have a Grand Tour, perhaps you can correct your profile to reflect it.

I am looking at the Airstream Grand Tour a was wondering the same thing about the microwave. Did Airstream make any changes to the 2017 perhaps adding microwave convection oven ?

Sharp doesn't make a combo unit like that and the video of the new 2017 showed the same micro drawer as my 2016. So I would say no.
