The black one was probably us. We are pulling our white Fiat Abarth. We stayed in Holbrook, AZ last night.

I spotted a silver AI with Florida plates this morning in Charlotte heading south on I-77 near downtown. The driver was motoring on so the only decent photo I got was into my rear view mirror before he/she passed me.

My son and I attended the Euro Auto Festival in Greenville, SC yesterday. A local dealer had a 2016 lounge on display. I liked the power window shades, the larger TV, and the light in the front overhead storage space. It also had the screen door which they said could not be retrofitted.Click image for larger version

Maumelle COE Little Rock

Spotted Interstate checking out of Maumelle COE Campground a week ago tomorrow. Didn't get a chance to visit with the owner who was from Louisiana. Hope she enjoyed that campground as much as we did.

Ho ho ho - this was the very last place I expected to spot an Interstate - at the League City Christmas parade this evening!

Here you see my red-nosed reindog posing beside her, right after our group completed the parade route. The reindog and I are members of the local animal therapy volunteer group, and we march together every year.

Don't know who you are, but if you happened to spot a dog decked out in LEDs, that was almost certainly us - I believe I had the only canine wired for light this year, and the little kids loved her. Now if we can just manage to get our Interstate's solar system wired up as effectively as our dog...

Interstate spotting
Who'd I see in Topeka KS driving their interstate 17May16? It was about 2:15pm central on I-70 East on the west side of town. We were in our coach, waved and honked, but didn't see anything through the limo tint.

Have never saw even one single Interstae during five months - the time I own mine. I started to doubt if they are exist between Florida and New York where I am driving monthly.

Isn't that a beauty? Until that post, I had never seen one with that particular paint scheme. I am constantly amazed by the diversity of T1N Interstates that were produced. I have sales searches running on the major websites and I archive some screengrabs of the different schemes for future reference. I'm still seeing new ones pop up, especially now as we are near the height of the re-sale season. One wonders how and why Airstream made all those different paint decisions, because it's a big investment to paint a vehicle, and fairly costly to have offered such diversity.

The layout/floor plan of the 2004 T1N Sprinter based Interstate is different.
The front seats do not swivel.
There is an old school entertainment center just behind the driver seat. Think 80's stereo component cabinet.
Then, moving back in the coach, there are 2 jack knife sofas facing each other and holes in the floor for a pedestal table which stores under the curb side couch.
The kitchen is in the rear curb side corner and the wet bath is in the rear street side corner.
When I send Airforums $20 I will post interior pics.

The definitive summary of T1N Sprinter Interstate lay-outs below. I compiled this info straight out of Airstream's archives, so if I'm inaccurate, it's because they are inaccurate.

Interestingly, the "lounge" model (then called "rear dinette") that became dominant in the NCV3s was only introduced in the last T1N model year. One would suspect that the motivation was to finally introduce the supposedly-safer forward-facing seatbelts, yet in the 2007, there are none - only belts on the rear side seats. In fact, the 2007 RD is reportedly the only T1N Interstate that has a total of four belts instead of six. Go figure.

These four lay-out choices... I have a high degree of confidence that these represent everything that was produced. But the different paint schemes... those I'm still counting the number of.

Did the sofa beds and/or dinette seats have seat belts or were they all two passenger?

The rear commode would definitely be exciting in a NCV3 when underway.

Jannie's is the Interstate 22FS (front sleeper).
Bottom left in the picture of layouts.
The side facing couches have seat belts.

We have a 2007 RD and can confirm only four seatbelts with only those in front facing forward. I've often wondered why Airstream made the decision not to belt the forward facing sofa seat.. We treat ours as a two person sanctuary so the need for extra seat belts is superfluous, however I'm still curious about their logic.

These are cheap seat belts bolted to the floor behind the sofa. I personally - removed them as they are useless and were installed by Airstream for legalization of extra number of passengers in the vehicle.

I recently got an email from a 2007 owner who is not an Air Forums user, a blog-follower of mine, who was contemplating removing those side belts and having rear belts installed. I don't know why Airstream made that decision. Maybe something to do with the way the seat folded down to make a bed in those years? We have the 2007 RS so I can't really speculate.

Ours is a two-person sanctuary but the two people vary, and my teenager insists on sitting in the back - parental toxicity, I suppose, compelling her to get as far away as possible.

And when either my husband or teenager is napping in the back, I ask that they fish out a seat belt, loosen it to maximum extent, and put it around themselves, like a loose lap belt on an airplane. I don't know that it would help in an emergency but I also don't know that it would hurt. In a crash scenario, there's not much that is worse than body-as-projectile, so I'd take my chances with a loose belt around my midsection.
