Interstate Oven Options?

I thought it would be easy to replace the microwave in my 2018 Interstate 19 with a microwave/convection oven like I have in my 2020 Roadtrek SS Agile- but its not.
First, the I-19 has a smaller space for the oven.
I read on these forums some other issues, not in an I-19 but still, same issues.
Venting
Getting too hot
Eating too much power
Suggestions to get a countertop toaster oven- which has benefits of its own
and some have a gas oven.
Some say get a Dutch Oven, or use a frying pan to bake. Does that work?

So has anyone gone with a micro/convection oven in an I-19?
Merci in advance for any help

Hi

Pretty much all of your choices are going to use around 1.5 KW of power. Your generator can handle that (if the A/C is off). The stock inverter in a 2018 will not power any of the useful ones. ( = there are some small bread toasters that might be under the limit).

Brevile makes some pretty nice convection ovens. They are reasonably small.( depending on how far up the line you go). They aren't a microwave, but they will do most of what a normal oven will do. They need "space" on all sides so not going to work hurried in a cabinet.

Assuming you have a propane cooktop, get an Omnia stovetop oven. Works great! Store in the microwave when you’re not using it.

Part of the issue is that I don't have my Interstate to go measure. Its being inspected today before shipping (yes I know I am crazy, but these are crazy times).
I probably should wait until I have it, but then I don't know if the install is as simple as unscrew the trim kit, take out the microwave, unplug with standard 110 plug and replace. If it needs someone who knows RV repair and electrical, I'd have to get an appointment.
And I probably should try to get an appointment at an Airstream dealer to check out the RV when it arrives because I am shipping it to myself (again, I know I am crazy but if you know another way I can get it without flying there during the pandemic).
That said, I am still trying to do the research, if it is just plug and play that would be cool.

I read a bunch of posts here about upgrading the microwave oven. (I saw yours Rocinate) and checked out Stella's kitchen.

Doesn't help that my salesman only sent me a picture of the face of the oven and his dimensions are of what he measures without the manual for the microwave, he provides no part number or model number and of course not measuring the space where it would go... The inspector said she'd try to get a pic from the front of the manual, I asked her for part numbers, model numbers dimensions...
While I was writing this post the inspector sent me this info from the manual:
Model: Countoure RV-787S Microwave (only)
Dimensions L-17.3" W-13.0" H-10.2"
Input 1050 Watts
Output 700 Watts

The arguments for getting a counter top or stove top oven are really good, and in the end I probably will get the Omnia or a toaster oven- because of all the above good arguments, better than trying to make something work that is not supposed to work- but I'd like to sort out this issue in case there really is a microwave/convection oven that is *meant* for my Interstate 19, because that's what the Airstream parts catalog says!

Here's what I found:
This is the photo of my existing microwave oven

It seems to be only a microwave oven.

This is the parts book I was given from a store, from airstream (it's listed on their site as 2019 but its titled as 2018, mine is a 2018, this makes it more confusing...)
https://airstream.com/wp-content/upl...Parts-Book.pdf
and then I found this one also on Airstream.com
https://www.airstream.com/wp-content...s-book-378.pdf

Both Airstream parts books list *only* a microwave/convection combo oven as a part for the 2018 Interstate 19 (or, I guess the 2019?).
Microwave and Cooktop

690728-01 Microwave, Convection, Contoure
690728-02 Trim kit, Contoure convection microwave
690576 Cooktop, 2-burner, Smev

I don't know what "Microwave drawer type, 1.3 CF" means and can't find that except it leads back to *here, Airforums*:

Someone asking how to use the convection part of the oven.

Well that doesn't look like it would fit!

update: The Omnia is 11" diameter, 10" tall- it may not fit inside the microwave for storage

Oh dang, sorry about that. The Microwave in our 2016 GL (24+ feet long) must be larger. Ah, also we gave up on upgrading our existing conventional microwave to a convection microwave. The Omnia did the job for us...at least for now.

The Omnia is still a really great option, even if it doesn't fit in the microwave for storage
While checking out Brevilles, some of the reviewers pointed me to https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/sto...ven/1043117147

I am not so much a baker as just usually have things that taste so much better when heated up in an oven than a microwave. And I was thinking about getting a toaster...
And I am currently living in a hotel room with just a fridge and a microwave for a couple months (I was going to use my Roadtrek RV's kitchen, but its going in the shop and I can't use the water... and now the Interstate wont have an oven) so I am going to buy the Cuisinart for the hotel room and hope that it might work out for the Interstate

Hmmm there's another Cuisinart less cost I think I will try!

All the reviews speak wistfully of a previous version... which I found... and its over $900...

Seems quality has declined... and so that's the way it is these days ...

Hi

We've used the Cuisarts in the past .... get the Brevile .... If you spend some time shopping, the cost difference isn't all that great.
