Intermittent Gas Furnace Ignition Failure
I have a 2008 Interstate with the Atwood gas furnace model 7916-II. For the past several winters the furnace has failed to ignite about 30% of the time. The blower comes on, the ignitor cycles on 3 times and then it shuts down with the red light on the circuit board flashing 3 times. At that point I have to cut the power to the unit with the rocker switch above the circuit board, and try the ignition cycle again. I can't seem to find any common situation for when the ignitions fails, I just have to try sometimes several cycles of reseting unit to get it to light
The fuel pressure seems adequate, the stove and generator both run fine. I called Atwood and they weren't very helpful but did say to check the fuel pressure...I have no easy way to do that. Does anyone know if there is an adjustment on the propane regulator coming off the propane tank that I should be looking at?
I pulled the ignitor and it looks ok and has great "sparky " sounds when it's trying to light.
I think I've read the other forum threads on furnace problems, but none mentioned an intermittent problem like I have.
Any tips or things to check would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
