Interior Parts?
I have a 2009 Interstate.....that caught on fire....Battery box recall issue.
I'm looking to get some interior parts replaced. Its at an RV dealership and they are stumped....so its up to me to do their job. That's where I find you guys. Need to replace the the rear sleeper area, where can I find the parts? My google skills are normally pretty good but I am having some trouble!
Thank You!

All of the parts are available from Airstream, if the shop you have it at now is "stumped", you need to get it out of there and take it to a 5 Rivet Airstream dealer. Of course it will be an expensive repair, but nothing beats a good authorized dealer.
Good luck!

Have you got a copy of the 2009 Interstate Part book from Airstream?
That will be a good place to start identifying the parts you need. Most of the parts will only be available from Airstream. Not sure of availability on parts from an eight years old unit.

Can you tell me more about the battery box recall issue? I have a 2009 also that I have owned for only eight months. Is there something I need to look at on this?

The fix places a thin plywood cover over the open compartment under the lounge seat. It has a 6"x6" opening on left side to provide some ventilation for the inverter/charger in the compartment. I added a piece of plastic screening to the vent opening to make sure nothing falls into that compartment.

My 2014.5 had screening already over the 6x6" opening. Apparently, Airstream was learning!
The majority of the heat in that compartment is the solenoid that Airstream added to reduce parasite load when the battery master is turned off. That no longer exists in my AI.

My 2013 Interstate Ext Lounge had the screen over the area with the inverter et al. When Lewster did my upgrade work, the entire area under the couch was seriously “cleaned up”, with covers and wire looms. I have no exposed terminals either......so now I have no real need for the screen and it is gone.

I am not hopeful that Airstream has old parts available. In my new 2016, I found one trim piece that was defective. It was a narrow, 6 foot by 3 inch piece with pocket screws. Dealer ordered it and took weeks to get here. I look and what they sent lacked the pocket screws and the dealer had just screwed it down to compensate.
If they can't reproduce a piece for a current AI, I don't think they can replicate any of the old pieces.
