House batteries not charging

I took my 2015 Airstream Interstate Grand Lounge to airstream Factory service center in Ohio. My solar panel was not charging house batteries so they changed the solar panel controller box. I drove back to my home in Wisconsin. Issue - my batteries have stopped charging from engine power. What can someone do while replacing solar panel controller to stop engine charging. It was working great before!

I live 500 miles away from factory service center so I cannot take my van back to them. Any suggestions what I should look for? Btw + solar panel charging is working fine now

I read this again. If your asking what could they have done to cause the problem, call them and ask to speak with the technician who did your repair.

Thanks for pointing out. I can see it is confusing. My question is what they could have done while installing solar panel controller for engine to stop charging house batteries?

I did call them. They are saying we cannot tell what could have caused it and asking me to bring it back so they can look at it. The service station is 500 miles away…

every time I have had issues with the alternator not charging the house batteries its caused by a blow fuse attached to the chassis battery


Likely I am using the wrong lingo, but if you open up the chassis battery under the drivers feet, there is a positive bus bar. You should be able to identify the heaviest gauge cable going towards the back of the van and find the 150 am fuse attached to that

I too suggest checking the fuse on the side of the chassis battery. It may be that they shorted out something on the BIM, and that blew the fuse, if the BIM is in the vicinity of the solar controller.
