Hi all

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am very very new to this but am enjoying reading the forum. My name is Jack and I live in California. Just got a white 2012 Airstream Mercedes. Hope everyone is doing well. I will have lots of questions and hope to contribute when I can ( and when i know more). :-)

Welcome.

Those Merecedes Interstates are very cool! Hope you got a good deal on the 2012, but I bet they hold their value really well. How many miles on it?

Happy Airstreaming!

Welcome Jack, and congrats on the new AI!

Just had mine out for a quick little jaunt into the central valley of CA. 95*F but the cab and lounge were very comfy with just the cab AC on. I can't get over what a smooth handling rig these are! As you know, the condition of the roads around here can make donkey trails look good, and I'm constantly amazed at how well the Interstate handles them.

Holler if you have questions. Good folks here who are willing to help.

Thanks FlyFishinRVr. I'm also in Northern California. Are you allowed to run the generator and the rear AC to cool off the passengers in the back of the RV when you are driving down the highway? I imagine that you can otherwise they would be pretty warm back there.

As far as I know it's legal to do that, but I don't find it necessary. Turn the dash air on full blast and point the outlets in the middle of the dash straight back. Not sure on your year, but on mine I can open the little windows in the rear lounge a few inches and the air rushing past acts like a vacuum and pulls the cool air coming from the dash straight back through the coach.

Welcome. Might want to add the year and type of your A to your profile for future reference when others are helping answer questions. Enjoy your AI. They are fun.
