I have a 2012 Airstream Interstate 3500-Have a Cummins Onan 2500 LP generator that is mounted on back of coach. Exhaust bracket broke and exhaust was ripped off before I could stop. So my question-The muffler is located inside a small square under the generator( only about 3.5” x 4”. So is there a cover on the square with a hole in it to mount the exhaust on the muffler or is it just open and u mount the exhaust to the muffler. Cummins doesn’t seem to have a definitive answer so I thought other owners of the similar vehicle might know if their muffle is just open underneath their generator

Most of them don't have a muffler from the factory. My 09 does not. Just a tailpipe. Cummins has a resonator that can be installed in the tailpipe which is said to quiet it down a bit.
Mine has no muffler either, just a tailpipe coming out of the square hole in the genes. The tailpipe seems to be connected with a UBolt clamp. Two photos enclosed. https://www.airforums.com/forums/att...1&d=1736652016
Thanks for the reply and pics of your exhaust coming out of your generator. It was a big help. We should compare other things since our campers are the same year. Where are you located? Thanks again Rod- Steve
