If you have a warranty-related breakdown driving home with a brand-new Airstream Interstate/Mercedes Benz Diesel, it will be a very, very bad day, Wayne.
Can't hardly imagine that.
We have 71,000+ miles on our Interstate with a 5 cylinder, turbo-charged, MB diesel, and just had our first issue last month with a faulty turbo-resonator that was replaced under warranty. We are told these engines are made to easily go several hundred thousand miles with just routine maintenance. (And, we hope to put that many on it before we're through.
)
Might consider AAA, or some such counterpart, should you hit something in the road or have another unforeseen mishap, as they will come to you, wherever you are. We have had AAA since our first RV in 2002, and wouldn't be without it.
Travel safe,
Maggie
