FUSION radio on/off

What is the trick to turning the power totally off?

I push on/off switch and "hold" for a sec or two ... sound and display "go off". I think all is good.

The next morning the dash and storage compartment is "warm" to the touch - - this means the FUSION is consuming my valuable watts while I think it is "off"

When I hold power button down for 10 or 15 sec ... it reboots the sytem.

Manual is useless! Help...

You have just learned that the Fusion is really never off... reason some of us have installed kill switches to do just that...

Looking at pics above. Please explain the reason for the dual switches to manually disconnect 12v power to the Fusion.

You have two wires (a yellow and a red) powering the Fusion... for some strange reason, that I have not been able to find an explanation for, you have to cut power to both for the unit to completely shut off... The red should have been switched to the ignition, but in mine it had power all the time. Both did, so I just did a switch for each wire.

FYI, with this setup you do not loose your settings or preset stations...

I finally got around to installing the same Mercedes switches in the same place. I found something that baffles me. I have to have both switches on for the Fusion to light up, although both the red and the yellow wire are hot. If either switch is off, my Fusion is dead.

Since I use a dash-top trucker's GPS instead of the Fusion, the Fusion is simply a CD player. I find the Fusion display is way too far down and takes my eyes off the road. For the same reason, I use the dash-top GPS as my speedometer.
