Free Tours

I'm averaging one tour request per day when traveling with our interstate. Time for Airstream to start reimbursing us? I'm assuming this is about normal for the rest of you?

Heh, we routinely give people tours at filling stations and rest stops in addition to those at campgrounds.

It happens to us as well.. The airstream is a rock star, people take photos and they ask if they can take a peak then they are amazed that you have everything you need in a small space...

Everywhere we go and every time we go we get a positive comment and request to peek inside. It used to bug me but now I almost expect it!

When we pull the Caravel with the '47 Chevy it happens frequently. Sometimes difficult to get out of a gas stop. Fun stuff.

I came out of a Cracker Barrel last week to find someone taking pictures with his phone. Thinking there might be a problem, I asked if everything was okay. He told me he was trying to get a shot of the dealer decal so he could call them. My wife used to get irritated when I offered tours but she is so used to it now that asked him if he would like to see inside. This only reinforces our decision to buy the unit.

We bought a truck to pull our new-to-us 23FB. To make sure we could pull fine the dealer let us try a 'test pull." Everything worked and "Mosquito" waited patiently in the lot while we finished paperwork. One salesman who didn't realize who she belonged to took pictures with his phone and posted them on his Facebook page. He thought he was going to get to sell her & was giving people a heads up! I think not!

Yesterday, while we returning from our latest adventure, we stopped at a grocery store. We parked a good distance from the front door, with plenty of vacant spaces around us. We came out to find someone parked directly in front of the curbside slider. I think he was wating for someone "famous" to come out and hop in.

I just love it when people want a tour. I'm so proud of my Airstream and want to show her off.

It's Day Six of our shakedown tour from Québec to Alberta and we keep getting rather exuberant comments on our AI. It seems that there really aren't that many around in Canada. Yesterday, a couple asked how we liked our new Roadtrek. When we told them it was an Airstream, they were floored. The day before another couple pulling a brand new Airstream trailer had the same reaction: they didn't even know that Airstream did Class Bs. Nice to know that we're getting confirmation that this was a great purchase.

I once got a big load of groceries and other stuff in preparation for a rally, and was parked at the far end of a shopping center parking lot. Because there was so much stuff I opened up the EB's hatch to load it all in quickly. Two local policemen immediately came up just to rubberneck, and about half a dozen other Lookie Louies.

Being in a cheerful mood, I simply started offering coffee and cookies. Sort of a fun little picnic actually.
