Flowjet Strainer Plugged

First time to winterize my newly purchased 2015 Interstate Grand Tour Ext. prepping to add antifreeze hose at pump, I removed tubes and found entire pump strainer plugged with plastic shavings. My guess is my used AI prior owner never winterized our cleaned at season ends. FYI. Take time to clean your pump strainer.

Good information. That accumulation of plastic shavings looks like something that got into the water lines when Airstream built your Interstate.

More Airstream QA issues and lack of attention to detail in production.

At what temperature should I be concerned about winterizing. My interstate grand tour is parked in driveway and My area of South Carolina may get 2 days of frost freeze warning all winter. Still enjoying low 70’s.

Good tip. I did not know there was a strainer in there.

Mine was clogged as well. Tech told me it was savings from factory install. He has seen it before.

Mine too. My tank pan had an access plate to a bung in the bottom of the tank. I removed the bung and flushed the tank from underneath. A lot of chunks and shavings came out.
