Exterior Shower

It figures that the ONE thing we did not checkout during the walkthrough was the exterior shower.
Spent the day here...on the road.... flushing and sanitizing the system(s). When I went to hook up the exterior shower hose and nozzle...it would not go into the quick disconnect. The wire bails are retracting when I push the sleeve, but the hose fitting will not go in. I suspect it may be something as simple as a stuck spool in the assembly, but thought I would float a message here before I turned the ape-man loose on it.
Thoughts anyone??? The nearest dealer is miles away.....

It takes a little more force than you would expect to connect it. I think it is because the system is under pressure. Try turning off your water pump and opening a faucet to let off some of the pressure.

Exterior shower connections on Interstates change from one model year to the next, and apparently even within a model year. Pictures of your particular connection may help.

Will post a pic tomorrow. It does not match the manual...or the parts list. It has individual valves for hot and cold water, with a stainless steel QD fitting in the center position. Looks like standard sink setup, but fitted with the QD in the center post position.
Have also sent a note to Airstream Customer support. Those guys have. Been very helpful in other areas.

Exterior Shower

On mine, I had to take a screw driver and punch the plunger in with the palm of my hand. I think my dealer detached the hose with the pump on and the valves open, and the pressure pushed the plunger outward. Now, I make sure I turn the outside valve off and relieve the pressure before detaching the hose, and no more problems 👍

OK... Took off the quick disconnect fitting. Soaked it in hot water. It released....... All is well.
