That looks like way too much stuff. We've used Shark and Black & Decker handhelds with good results - including LOTS of dog hair.

Dyson has had that model for a long time, not called car & boat before though. I've had one for about 7 years for the AS. Works well, like all Dyson stuff and has great suction. I got a second battery so I can do the whole trailer without waiting for a charge.
Edit: I see this edition has a 12v charger...I dont have that. Mine is 120v charging only.

I have the Dyson "Animal." Basically the same, except I don't have the short extension for the power brush. My long extension lives in the garage and I just use it at home between trips. I just take the long nozzle and the non-power brush with me on trips, as well as the charger.
It has been great to pick up the sawdust and other small bits from my many mods.

DW bought a dyson 41 animal up-right several years ago.
IMHO... over priced, over weight, over engineered, dust leaking, poorly designed piece of junk.
Doesn't even have a light...probably so you can't see everything it's left behind.
It does suck good though. 😂
Got a Shark Duo upright as a replacement....👍👍👍
Much better in all respects, even has a light. 👌🏽
Use a Shark Rocket in the AS.

Odd, my Dyson "Animal" is just like Alex's Dyson except for the color of the top. It is tight as a drum. At the moment, it is full of sawdust from my most recent mod and there has never been any leakage.
I bought it as a refurb for a very good price from Woot Inc. which is now part of Amazon.

We have two. One at home and one in the airstream. Work great. No dust/dirt leaks.

We have a cheapie 12v vacuum that works well for picking up dust and debris. But it does not have a very good filter. So it works equally well at redistributing the dust and only retaining the large debris. Going to step up to something, but am not sure that I'll step all the way to the Dyson. Lots of smaller (and cheaper) ones on Amazon that have the same 4 1/2 starts as the Dyson. So may start there ($30) before going to the Dyson ($200).

Try a Shark, I don't think you'll be disappointed, much lighter than the D'sun, better features. (dual brush, light and weighs less).
Plus if you want to use the extension hose attachments at least the hose will extend and not pull the unit over and drag it around.

What hose?
The thread was opened to discuss small vacuums that are suitable for the restricted space in the Interstate. You are posting about uprights that have nothing to do with the intent of the thread.
My wife has a Dyson upright and I hate it. I have the compact Dyson Animal in the Interstate and it is more than acceptable. Shark makes good products, but, at the price I paid for my refurbished Dyson, I would not change.
We have a lot of problems with threads started in the Interstate section drifting to subjects that have nothing to do with the Interstate

So Pahaska are you saying don't use in any vehicle other than an Interstate? I think my trailer 23' needs a cleaning as often as your Interstate and certainly a vacuum applies to all vehicles.
So please quit reading other threads unless it applies to your particular type of camping.

If you will look, you will find that this thread is in the Interstate and B-Van thread. And yes, I read all posts of interest in this thread.

Oh... I'm very sorry,
I did not mean to intrude on your exclusive "interstate" thread.
I was referring to dyson the brand...IMO, not worth the high $$$.
There are many comparable options with very good performance at a much better price point.
What hose?
If you in fact have an animal upright, you know of what I speak. With the unit turned on the 'extendable' hose doesn't. 👎

My wife loves my new small vac coz it fits in a handbag. She also likes purple, her favorite color, and inspires her to help me clean the AI.

I just like the bag! I even gravitate to Irwin tools for some reason.

JOHN - me too, not sure what it is about IRWIN The bag - if you look at it and put next to Dyson, everyone says it won't fit. BUT it fits like a glove with not an inch to spare, along with all the attachments (save the biggest - motorized head). I guess sometimes lucky is better than good

I had a Shark Ion flex at home and loved it. But I didn't want to spend big bucks to duplicate it on the Airstream.
I learned that all the Ion Flex have the same components and the models vary by accessories and color.
So I watched e-bay for a while and bought a Ion Flex 205 for the trailer for $125. It uses the same batteries as the one I have at home. So I have three batteries for two vacuums. It folds and works great!

I've been stuck with that name for 86+ years, and I can trace it back to colonial days. Kinda fond of it.
