Dometic 321 Series Low Profile Toilet
Has anyone installed a Dometic 321 Series Low Profile Toilet in their AI?
I believe that the one in my AI is the 301... the 321 is an elongated residential-style toilet.
Downloading manuals to check for possible fitment issues...

Research...
So the problem is on the distance required for the center of the flange location... 8.75" for the 301 that I have now... and the 321 would required that to be at 11" from the back wall.
Also the front border of the base would be 2.75" further forward...
I do not have the AI close by to see if there is that kind of room on the floor to move this around... will check when I get home.

Looking at a photo online of what I have in my AI, there might be just enough space in the base for those 3" required for the 320/321...

We followed GMFL’s lead and installed the 321 in our 2018 23CB. Very nice.

Without modifications? If so, do you recall if there is additional space avail (320 needs and additional inch of clearance... ) ? I want the 321 for that elongated shape that would make it a heck of a lot more comfortable for me

Remove and install. No mods.
Again, read this: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f142...-166085-9.html

Ours is the smaller one, smaller than the 320. There was NO chance that we could have accommodated any other Dometic model, including the 320. There was no wiggle room whatsoever on that rear clearance. But we have an older wet bath config. I'm not sure what yours will allow.

Thank you. That is my concern , but as you mentioned, we might have different wet bath configs. I will look at this tonight when I get home. Will measure what is there and try to determine how involved of a change this will be... ...fingers crossed...

The limiting dimension for us was the back of the seat and not the base:
As you posted here:
The 320 series is an inch deeper than the 310 series and would not fit in our van. The elongated bowl was my preference as well.

Ohh... but by limiting dimensions you mean, to be able to do it as a bolt on swap... to avoid having to move the flange and all that would be required...
Because from the photo you just shared, you still had some space in the front to shift it forward...
Now, I am a complete ignorant of the effort it would require to move the flange forward... we are talking making changes to the drain... unless the black tank is straight down and there are no drain pipes to play with... or if the tank cannot be moved an inch...
Would be nice to have some cutaway views of the bathroom...
Anyway, here I go digressing again... thank you for the photo and info!

I don’t know how your bathroom is constructed but our flange is in the top of the tank with no intervening plumbing. I did not entertain moving the tank because there likely wasn’t much room to do so, not to mention it would require changing the dump valve and vent plumbing. It would have been easier to twist the flange and install the toilet at a larger angle. The pic above is a bit crooked and not our final install.

I was thinking of this same thing just a few days ago, mainly because all my home toilets are elongated. And also my ignorance of rv toilet flange design has caused me to pause my thoughts on this mod. From what I have read, the only toilet seat I can get in this AI toilet is the cheapo plastic creaky seat. If someone can correct me and say there is a wood seat that can work with this 301, that would be sufficient to make me keep the current toilet.
From what I can see in the specsheet, if Fig. 2E (back wall to front of base) is > 15.75" - AND- Fig. 3A (back wall to flange center) is > 11" then it should fit ? However, without dismounting toilet, we don't really know if flange is perfectly centered on the base or offset forward or back. Diagram is not specific on this.
EDIT: the 2 bolts stick out from flange to base, which would be center of flange (per diagram), so that gives us exact point to measure to wall. Will check mine tomo when I arrive at Sand Hollow State Park, UT for a Triathlon.

I measured it last night... There is enough clearance (2-1/4") on the back to accommodate the extra length of the 321, plenty of space in the front (3"), but those flange bolts are at exactly 10" from the wall...and the 320 requires 11"
And from looking at how this is mounted... there is nothing to play with to be able to gain that 1" to make it work... Flange is mounted straight to the tank and vent tubes position does not help either... carp, so this is where it stops... Unless there is another quality RV toilet vendor with something that would work...

Do you have any space between the back wall and the current toilet. That’s how I did mine. I had about 3/4” behind the toilet that gave me just enough clearance

How good are your fiberglass skills? I’m sure there is an inch to be made behind the back wall. :-)

I have 2-1/4" between current toilet and back wall... This would be taken up by the difference in length between the 321 and the 301 that I have...
So it really comes down to be willing to make a cutout on the back wall that would allow the 321 to fit within the 10" of flange location...
And then make an aluminum contraption or print something that would fit in that cutout, to seal things off...
