Dent in the battery box
Unpack my new batteries to install and there's a dent in the corner of one...

They will probably tell you to get back in touch with the freight carrier, but deftly work thru them.

Thanks Lewster.. I guess I should have unpacked them before I got started, I installed one of the new batteries and put one of the old ones back in until I can get the dented one replaced..

That's really not a good idea, as they new and old will have different charge/discharge characteristics leading to the reliance on one battery.
Better to keep the old ones in use until both of the new ones are ready to go in line.

Even if it's parked inside and not plugged in and the main battery disconnect is turned off?

Only if the new and old are isolated from each other.

What if I just take the old one out and just leave the new one by its self?

That works if it's a 12VDC battery and not one that's 6VDC.

Lew,
I installed the new batteries but they are only getting to 95% no matter how long I have it plugged in.. Could I have damaged the good battery when I hooked it up with one of the older ones for a couple of hours? Or is it just bad batteries?

Both scenarios are entirely possible.
