So it actually is going to work out fine that I bought the entire fixture.

Have you considered just using the new bulb if it is brighter than the 6 LED bulb? I find the stock light provided by Airstream very dim as a porch light. It's more like a night light.

Installed a new brighter and angled Porch Light from Command Electronics. $18 from Amazon with free shipping. It only came in white so I disassembled it and painted shell silver to match my van. Here are some photos.

Looks good Mike. I will check the output of both bulbs before I screw the lens back on...then move on to the next fix, add-on, etc.

The Command Electronics 007-60 is the exact replacement porch light. Job is done and looks brand new and OE. The glass bulb that came with my particular order was not as bright as the OE LED so I am using the LED and the bulb is my emergency backup. If you want brighter I am sure you can find a brighter LED or do as Mike did and try a different fixture all together.

If you have to swap out the whole fixture (as I did) make it easy on yourself and dont break the water seal and dont mess with the wiring inside your rig. Instead, release the wires from the light blub plug on the outside. This is done by depressing the prong connecters in the plug and gently pulling on the wires. Now the whole fixture can removed except the origional wires and the origional water seal is kept intact. Reverse install your new fixture using the origional wires to the plug.

The new fixture with free shipping was under $13.00 ordered from Amazon. The vender was a company named: Closer to Wholesale, of Mendon, MI.

Thank you all for thoughts/info. I hope this info is usefull to someone else.

The original porch light seal is that sponge foam and not water proof so it let water get around the screw holes. I replaced the entire fixture an resealed with Sikaflex 221 after touching up the corrosion around the screw holes. Photo of corrosion and repair attached.
