We just got home with another Airstream Tommy Bahama edition but this time a trailer. We had been thinking about getting a trailer and with the announcement that they are retiring the Tommy Bahama editions, we decided to snap this one up since we like the design of the interior of the van so much and there were only a handful of new ones left that we could find.

Actually, we are going to sell the van even though we just put lithium in it but I couldn't resist getting a picture of them together.

Can’t judge you... we almost did the same!!! And this was before we knew that last year were the last built in TB Edition...

That's an adorable little trailer. Congrats. Post a few pics of the interior, if you would.

One day, we may have both. My original wish 5 years ago was for a trailer, but my husband overruled me -- and I'm very glad he did, because the Interstate was the right choice for us at that time, and still is the right choice now.

However, I may eventually turn an Airstream trailer into an office. For instance if we downsize our house, trading square footage for a larger plot of land (a common retiree dream), such that there's no room in the eventual smaller house for my office. Sounds to me like that could be trailer time.

Congrats!

We love our AS trailer. It allows us to disconnect and have transportation wherever we park our “home.” Sightseeing and hiking wherever we go is one of our priorities.

Not crazy at all!

I have been traveling full time in a 27’ International Signature for the last 4 years. Absolutely love it. But, next spring I am thinking about selling the truck (f250 diesel) and the trailer and moving into an interstate or comparable b-van. I have found as I travel, and probably true for others, my style changes. A B-van style would allow me to be more nimble at the expense of parking my home and exploring with the truck.

There is always a trade off. Some go bigger, some go smaller. Always an adventure, which is the point of it all. Happy adventures in the new set up!

Not crazy at all IMHO. We bought a 27’ Tommy Bahama in May because there were so few available
and we didn’t want to miss the opportunity. We finally got a chance to use it 3 weeks ago. We are still on our trip, home tomorrow. We love the TB actually more than we expected. The rear hatch is awesome and we had great camping sites on the shores of Great Lakes and some beautiful inland lakes. Bad weather prevented using the hatch opened as much as we would have liked but when we could it was great.

The problem is we can’t tow our boat if we are pulling our trailer. If we had the money and time and storage room we would have bought both. The coach for long weekends with the boat and cross country trips with the trailer.

Not crazy at all. Just part of the adventure. So many options available to optimize your experience. We owned a Prevost bus for 10 years, and also owned three successive AI Interstates at the same time. Now, that may be crazy. Now, we have sold our Prevost and our Interstate and bought a new LTV Unity to sort of consolidate the different ways we use the RV for short and long distance travel. Love the Unity with the new MB chassis, it drives as easy as the Interstate but much more comfortable to live in with all the additional room and storage. So, welcome to club Crazy, your not alone. Congratulations on your new rig.
