Yes - I filed right after I had the AEM done in April.

Hopefully the first recipient of the cash will post it, so that the rest of us will be envious, and know that the payoff is finally happening.
The DPF flex pipe crack was not discovered during the AEM installation. I had the AEM done in April and installed my own tailpipe in May as detailed in this thread.

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f24...ml#post2499018

Then after my 7,000+ mile National Park summer trip I took the van in for it's next B service in late August. During that service, four months after the AEM, they discovered the crack and replaced the DPF under the new 4 year warranty.

At this point I don't even care if I ever get money from the settlement. Having a complete new exhaust with a warranty at 140,000 miles is worth more than the cash payout. Of course the cash would be a nice bonus for having to replace my rusted out tailpipe.

**** CASH **** **** CASH **** **** CASH ****

I was just about to inquire on the subject of “cash dispersements.”

I have four vans which I’m awaiting settlement funds on. All were sold, so my disbursement per van is much lower obviously.

When Porsche disbursed on the diesel Chyanne, we distributed the “found money“ on a nice trip to Germany and Spain. It looks like this disbursement, from Mercedes, will get us to Kansas and back (wink)

Ok, I took a 2982 mile trip with my up dated van, I got 18.48 MPG average for the trip. the same as before on diesel. my DEF usage seamed about the same as well. So now, where is the settlement monies?

Deadline to file is October 22nd, so I assume it should be disbursed after that.

You are correct! I just looked at the instructions to the application, yes of 2022. So that means we will wait for the money more than a year ))

Scott, yes, there is two different deadlines. Been a while since I looked at it so someone else who is familiar want to chime in? I caught it when I was reading through the literature, but don’t remember off hand the details of the two.

The August deadline (actually thought it was July) was for the original owners that sold to get a stipend. If you are a second owner and the first makes a claim your $3.5k is reduced by ~$900 that goes to the original owner.

MPG was .9 less than previous Alaska trip. I did not keep track of DEF consumption on our 2019 trip.

On both trips we towed a 5x8 trailer loaded the same.

your results are nearly the same as mine, which are based on 4000 miles post-AEM. I am pleased with the minor decrease in diesel and DEF mpg, glad for the extended warranty, now for the $3500.

I checked yesterday about fund disbursement and got a very vague, noncommittal answer. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The representative took my number and was told the supervisor would give me a call back. Like the disbursement, I am still waiting.

Finally took my rig in to Mercedes for the emissions update after confirming that the local Freightliner truck repair place is no longer working on Sprinters (I had always gone here prior to this). Tailpipe was too rusted for Mercedes Service techs to complete the servic. It took a while, but I found a muffler shop with a pit who could work on it, and they fabricated and installed the new tailpipe for about $170. I was pleasantly surprised by the low cost and by the quality of their work (which included installation of new heat shielding). Now the rig is back to Mercedes for the "improvement" in the emissions system. Hope that I don't have any of the troubles that Road Jager and others have had.

That is a great price for a new tailpipe - good job!

We also got our emission changes done and submitted the paperwork for the class action monies last week
They said their only issue was difficulty in upgrading the software but all is OK now.
I'm not so sure. I have a near-dead throttle response when wanting to accelerate from a 1 to 4 miles an hour (heavy stop/go) traffic.
Guess we'll see if it "learns" not to bog down on the way home.

My unit (2013) did the same thing, but was back to normal after 100 miles.

I drove thousand miles after the upgrade. and it runs great. They also did something with software, so now dashboard shows me additional option: three speed levels of the rain-censored viper blades (although I didn't notice much a difference between them )))
