I front hitch doesn't sound optimal to me. I have never used a forum before...what a great source to draw from. We are new to the van life, so I am sure I will be back with more dumb questions.
Thanks again!
Iíve just ordered the Yakima Backswing from Amazon as I need it right away and Thule and Kuat would have to be backordered to some indefinite future date. Did this work out for you?

We carry 3 fairly heavy e-bikes and have had no issues so far. We donít have a swing hitch yet. You can barely tell they are on the back. Iíd recommend a decent built bike rack though.

Thule 957

We use the Thule 957 extensively and have been real happy with it. Very heavy duty, holds 4 bikes and the rear doors still able to swing open when the bikes are loaded; although you do have to swing the bikes out of the way a little bit.

We found the drawback to the 'arm style' rack is that the bikes end up moving around a lot and scraped into each other.

We bought a rack that holds both bike tires firmly in place which has eliminated the bikes rubbing together!
